I am selling a set of WEDS Louresh RF specifically made for Prius with the wheels hubcentrically designed. The wheels are AMF Advanced Metal Formed in Japan to keep the wheel lightweight and strong, similar to what Advan and Enkei uses to make their wheels. I decided to go 17 inch WEDS TC105Ns instead and special ordered these and waited 4 months, but changed my mind after ordering them. I did a lot of research before ordering them. These are the specs: 13.2 lbs 16x6.0 +45 size With the correct tire, the actual overall weight of the wheel and tire combo can be lighter or the same as the 15inch OEM wheels and tire. Asking price $220 each, super rare and almost impossible to find. Studio Picture
D***. If these were TC-005s I'd take tomorrow off and drive to LA tonight. You don't know how long and how much I want those rims.
These are not unfortunately, the TC-005s are discontinued, you would have to find used ones. I ordered the TC-105Ns, not the TC-005. These are made by WEDS for the Prius only.
I know. You can't believe how hard it is to find the 005's. Interesting rims though - the Louresh. They don't look like most Weds.
You are right, the TC005s were a universal wheel that would fit on the Prius. These are specific to Prius, the hub centers were designed for the car. The width is very narrow, 16x6 is not a common wheel, but designed that way to fit a narrow LRR tire to maximize gas mileage. I decided to go with a 17x8 with an aggressive offset because Hankook just came out with a eco friendly LRR tire at a super reasonable price. Most 17s are outrageous if you want a LRR so I originally opted for 16s, but when they released this tire, I changed my mind.
Those are good tires. Good find and I'll keep those in mind when it's my turn. I might be wrong but I remember that 8" wide rims on the Gen II would require fender rolling, even w/ higher offsets, which is too bad b/c 17x8 is a good size. Yeah 16x6 is too narrow for me. I'm looking for something preferably 17x7, gunmetal color, with a lip, and narrow 5-ish spoke design. Much like the TC-005 or Enkei RPF1s. Yeah I am picky but I'm essentially going for the "track" look. Sorry for hijacking your thread...back to business.
No problem with the highjack, but just to let you know most of the race wheels don't come in 17x7, generally minimum 17x7.5 and a lot 17x8. The 5x100 wheels tend to fit the Subarus and I doubt there good lightweight stuff comes in 17x7 5x100. There are a bunch of normal, non track 17x7, but nothing good like Advans and WEDS. I think the Work ECO line has 17x7. BTW most lightweight race wheels have NO lip.
Maybe I got the terminology wrong - I think I meant "notch," (not like a chrome lip) - You know, the type that most forged wheels have. Noted on 17x7.5. I messed up earlier too, that will fit the Gen II, which is great news for me, lol. At least this convo is bumping your thread.
Thanks keep it coming! Forged is obviously the best, but that is an expensive process. I think the Enkei and WEDS use a cheaper form of forging which keeps the cost down. The true forged wheels I think are mostly coming from Volk.
I may be very interested in these few questions: shipping to FLORIDA: CENTER CAPS? what is the offset /difference from the stock 15" gen 3 wheels? thanks\\ shawn
Yea they are, I guess 16s aren't a popular size for the Prius. I am going to go 17s and go with a more expensive wheel. You are going to really like them, if you are in socal, come by and see them in person. Really nice and lightweight.
Sorry for the delay, PM sent with contact info. I am located in Lake Forest. Hope to see you soon. I have a set of Teins here too, gotta try to show you those as well.
They are still for sale, a guy came by and said he was interested, but never came back with the money. So yes, they are available.
