That timing tends to make sense. The interesting part is how quickly the holidays seem to fly by. Will they this year, when you have an exciting delivery not arriving until the snow melts away? Ultimately, it doesn't matter how it happens... since it's totally worth the wait. layball: .
. Dormant accounts with no dealer chosen would indicate a fleeting interest, right?[/QUOTE] I would Think So. Waiting here in New York. Listening Toyota ?
I'm getting really excited. Although it's hard to think that delivery would be at soonest 5-6 months away. Especially considering my current car's trunk leaks. So when it rains the car is super humid inside, fogs up the windows, and gets to the point where almost every surface is covered in moisture and the windows don't really defog. *sigh* I hate my current vehicle.......
3 day prior notice from thanksgiving puts it into the week before (doubt it will be announced on a Saturday or Sunday) That means any day next week or the 3 left this week. I'll take next Tuesday (1 in 8 chance ain't bad).
It's a 96 hour window (4 days). I agree that it won't include a Sunday. So, That would leave out the week of Thanksgiving. So, if the window doesn't open today, I say it will be next week. Could open Monday or Tuesday. I agree, and say that Tuesday is the better bet.
Nothing today either, huh? Do you still think they'll give 3 days notice prior to opening the 4 day order window? If thats the case they'd have to do it tomorrow so the order window can be open Monday through Thursday of next week. If they wait till Monday to give the notice the window gets pushed into the weekend which seems unlikely and there aren't 4 straight days the following week for it with the holiday... I guess there's always December.
Yes, we're listening! May just shape up to be a good week after all. Who knows. Stay tuned. Erica Gartsbeyn Prius Product Manager Toyota USA
I'm actually enjoying the wait. 4th time is the charm, eh? layball:layball:layball: Back in January 2000, I started my first wait. That was a "boldly going" experience, totally worth every minute of anticipation. I still remember that beautiful September day of delivery. Oddly, the April to October wait back in 2003 was more surreal. Prius was no longer a dream of technology advances, it was a well proven approach for being green & efficient. Then in 2009, that next opportunity to upgrade came at a time when Prius had already become part of the mainstream. So, the wait from January to May was basically just icing on the cake. Now comes the plug. That I've been waiting decades for, since back when my late father fueled my interest in cars (pun intended). Having driven an early model PHV back in August 2010, I already know how much the hybrid system is enhanced. That it will have very strong appeal... so much so, I really don't want to miss any of the excitement build up. No rush. This is the history we'll all want to remember. .
Waiting with baited (breathe) finger on keyboard.... I lost the bet for Nov. 1 in the pool, as Nov. 1 is already gone...
