I dumped a 1999 Cadillac Deville with 132,000 comfortable miles on it. I miss that car. I don't miss an average of 17 mpg, 24-26 on highway trips

Our previous car was a 2010 Camry 4cyl with 9,300mi. We bought it thinking we would get better fuel mileage than our car before that, a 2000 Dodge Stratus ES (6cyl) with 120K miles. Both cars got 24MPG. The dealer said this was normal mileage, so we traded it for a Prius. We absolutely love the Prius. Now we get 52MPG! Awesome.

Traded in a 2006 Jetta TDI. It got around 34 MPG combined, but it had roof racks which cut the fuel economy a bit. Don't miss the smell, the smoke, the high priced diesel, or the hard starts below freezing.

    1995 Tercel with a moonroof.

Gave her to my brother when I got my Prius a month ago.
At least she stays in the family.

I drove a 1995 Tercel (without moonroof) for 15 years. It was still running well when I donated it to a food bank.

As written, this also suggests a 40% drop in monthly miles driven. If the Prius rolled up miles at the same rate as the Suburban, it should save 'only' $260 per month.

My previous car was a 2004 VW Touareg, was lucky if I got 13MPG. My 2011 Prius Four is the 3rd in our driveway, soon to be joined by the 4th when my husband passes his old one down to our daughter and replaces it with a '12...I think he wants a Plug-In. Oldest son already has a Prius.
Since I met my husband in 1978, this is the 1st non-BMW he's owned. In addition to the gas mileage, he wanted the HOV sticker so he bought an older one.

a 2006 Mazda Miata RHT. Had major back surgery so no longer able to get in and out without difficulty. Hated to give it up, but alas... Went to buy a RAV4 and had an 11th hr. change of heart. After a month I'm glad I did. Still miss the Miata a lot though.

2006 smart fortwo cdi. Put 286 000 km on it in 4 and a half years (we travel a lot), had the highest mileage in Canada on a smart. The car was plagued with mechanical problems and I dumped an additional $15k in repairs into it before I finally said enough was enough. Loved that thing though, now it's sitting in my parents' garage until we buy a house so I can convert it to an EV!

The Prius was the closest thing in fuel consumption to the smart, but I am still struggling to get the Prius down to where the smart was. I had no problem pulling tanks at 3.5-4.0 L/100 km in it... but we do like having the additional space, being able to take friends on trips, and the reliability factor.

My previous car was a Prius 2004, option 7. I would still be driving it, except I was rear ended and the insurance company totaled it.

Our Prius replaced a 1994 Honda Civic; the next hybrid will replace a 1996 Subaru Outback.

Old car was a 2005 Honda civic special edition. Stick shift. Gonna miss the stick shift, but really gonna love the MPG's.

Our Prius replaced a 2005 Audi A6 s-line, 4.2 V8, Quattro, sport suspension. It was a great car to drive, but expensive to own, and the warranty was up so it had to go.

2003 Honda Civic LX. 2 Dr. Black. I hated that car. It got trashed by a hail storm while I was in college and I never got it fixed. Love the new 2011 Prius. This is the first car I've bought for myself and the first car I've ever had pride in owning.

My previous car was a 2003 Toyota 4Runner. Was at the gas station every 3-4 days at about $75. Now I'm at every 5-6 days at $32!!

The 2010 prius replaced a 1990 SV21 camry. I've alsmost halved the fuel economy and the prius is much easier to drive.

I was driving a Mitsu Evolution X GSR 2008! But with my job im doing a lot of driving from ice rink to ice rink and it was getting such a waste of money! Love my Prius but im looking to get into the CT200h now! But with the Prius V 2012 and the updated 2012 liftback Prius, i think i will have a hard time selling it privatly!
