    Wow! Good stuff. I actually have some notes at home with regards to this -- I will look at them compared to what you have found and report back.

    This is what happens when I don't check this thread for a few months! LOL

    I used velcro on the steering column to hold it, with the back resting on the dashboard. I keep my tilt wheel all the way down.... I have two SGII stacked on top of each other. The main cable plugs into the bottom back connector and I have a short cat-5 cable connecting the two together. (I got our wiring guys at work to make me a 3" cable")

    I believe this etf is for the engine water temperature sensor for the exhaust heat recirculation system, TWS3. The other coolant temperature fWT is for the EFI system.

    I'm using UltraGuage and i get the same rpm. UltraGuage is good but no HV Battery specific stuff of course.:rolleyes:

    I didn't even know about that exhaust/coolant system! Interesting. This one would probably show higher temps during warmup than the other which is stick into the water pump housing on the side of the engine since that would be seeing the temp of the cold coolant coming out of the cold engine.

    Ok, just got back from my car where I did some comparison. All of Vincent's battery voltage (mv) and internal resistance XGAUGEs give readings that exactly match what I had in my notes. Sucks how block 6 and 13 are split across the multi-frame boundry. These are great troubleshooting tools but I wouldn't really think it would be something you would look at all the time. :)

    Anyway, I'll add it all to the spreadsheet. Great work Vincent!

    Ok guys, I did a bunch of updates to the spreadsheet today. :)

    Changes: 11/24/2011

    • Updated testing status on all main XGAUGES to accurately reflect which have been tested
    • Added: Distance since last oil change (since last reset) -- shows in miles on my USA car. Will probably return KM on car with metric MFD
    • Added: Disable Traction control. Puts car into Certification mode. Car must be on IGN-ON but NOT ready to set. To go back to normal, turn car off and on again. Please note that the service manual warns about driving in this mode, but I have read about people using it during auto-X on their Prius without any issue. At the least this is the perfect mode for putting the car on a dyno.
    • Added: Set HV Battery Cooling fan speed (0-6 with 6 being 100% speed and 0 being off.) After a few seconds fan will go back to normal car control once you change to diff gauge... So to override car just set this to desired speed and leave XGAUGE displaying. It will continually set the speed. Once you change to a different XGAUGE fan will resume normal operation.
    • Added: Read HV Battery Cooling fan speed (will show 0-6) -- test by setting fan speed.... 0 if off and 6 is 100% speed. (Which gets quite loud, at least while parked.)
    • Added Battery Block Voltage. Thanks to vincent1449p
    • Added Battery Block Resistance. Thanks to vincent1449p
    • Also the other day I updated the battery temperature sensor XGAUGES to be more accurate thanks to Frank T.

    Adrian,

    I added the Battery Fan Mode today and received a O since it was cool outside and I had not used the car.

    I also tried your new MTH for the Battery Temperature sensors. I received a -58B when I did this. I moved it back to the original MTH. Was the MTH the only thing that changed?

    Thanks,

    Dwight

    Hey Dwight. I used the FAN XGAUGE too and say it moving around with a 3 as the maximum. Kinda neat. I've never actually heard it. I meant to pay attention to it when stopped as I was wondering if it slows down or what.

    On the Batt Temps, the RXD also changed as the resolution went up from 8 bytes to 16 bytes. (More accurate readings) That would explain why you were getting the strange reading.

    Adrian,

    I changed both RXD and MTH and they are working fine.

    Question:

    Vincent's data for the four battery temperature sensors were:

    Tract Batt Temp 07E22187 056106870000 3008 00090005FFC6 BtT
    Battery Sens 1 07E22187 02EA05610687 3008 00090005FFC6 B1F
    Battery Sens 2 07E22187 010702EA0321 1808 00090005FFC6 B2F
    Battery Sens 3 07E22187 010702EA0321 2808 00090005FFC6 B3F

    Your latest update data is:

    Batt Temp 1 07E22187 02EA05610687 4010 00090500FFC6 BT1
    Batt Temp 2 07E22187 02EA05610321 1810 00090500FFC6 BT2
    Batt Temp 3 07E22187 010702EA0321 2810 00090500FFC6 BT3
    Batt Temp 4 07E22187 02EA05610687 3010 00090500FFC6 BT4

    I just want to make sure I am reading this correctly. I am "assuming" that your BT1 is the same as the BtT which is the incoming air temp. Then BT2 through BT4 are the three battery temp sensors 1, 2 and 3. Is this correct? The readings seem to be about the same.

    Thanks again,

    Dwight

    Wow, you know, I'm not even sure which is which. I was emailed by Frank T who gave me the knew more accurate 16 bit XGAUGES but he wasn't clear which was the inlet temp. I assumed it was the 4th but now I'm not sure. I think it might be Temp 1 actually. You can't happen to correlate to the old XGAUGEs can you so I can update the spreadsheet properly? (Currently it shows the 4th as the inlet temp.)

    Adrian,

    I checked out the original BtT (battery cooling inlet air temp) against your new signals and verified that the B4F is the one that correlates with the original BtT signal from Vincent. The battery temp signals normally run 10 to 15 degrees higher than the inlet air temp. The 8-bit signal had a resolution of 2 degrees F versus the 16-bit signal of 1 degree F resolution.

    I will test the correlation of the three new battery temp signals versus the original signals from Vincent later and let you know.

    Thanks,

    Dwight

    Hi Adrian,

    I think there are some errors in the spreadsheet. It seems that you used the trial value of divide by 8 for Battery Block Voltage. The exact scaling was found later after looking up the ZVW35 RM. The HB for both V06 & V13 also need to multiply by 256. All the voltages are not in Millivolts.

    Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4 Column 5 Column 6 Column 7
    0 GAUGE TXD RXF RXD MTH NAM Notes
    1 Battery Voltage Block 6 HB 07E22181 010702EA0321 4808 1F3F01000000 V06 xxxx (divide by 100 to get Volts) [add to 6 LB]
    2 Battery Voltage Block 6 LB 07E22181 010702EA0322 1808 1F3FFFFF0000 V6B See above because value crossed the frame boundary

    The Notes for Battery Block Resistance are incorrect. It should be divide by 1000 to get Ohms.

    Frank T is right about the battery temperature sensor being 16 bits. The RM states a min. of -50°C to 205.9°C.

    So the formula should be:

    C = 255.9 / 65535 * x - 50
    C = 1/ 256 * x - 50 (approx.)
    F = 9 / 5 * C + 32
    F = 9 /5 * ( 1 / 256 * x - 50 ) + 32
    F = 9 / 1280 * x - 58

    To make use of the 16 bits accuracy, I 've added a decimal place:

    Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4 Column 5 Column 6 Column 7
    0 GAUGE TXD RXF RXD MTH NAM Notes
    1 Battery Temp 1 F 07E22187 02EA85610687 4010 00090080FDBC BT1 xx.x F Cell Temp Sensor 1

    Thanks,

    Vincent

    Is this the same function as this procedures without using SGII?

    Vincent,

    I tried your new higher accuracy settings above with the XX.X F. It works fine. We have now gone from 2 degree, to 1 degree and now 0.1 degree resolution. Nice.

    Thanks,

    Adrian,

    I have spent the last few days comparing Vincent's original 8-bit XGauges with Frank T's new 16-bit XGauges for battery temps that you recently updated. As I said previously, you are correct that the 4th temp correlates with the battery cooling fan air intake temp. The other three battery temps (1,2 and 3) also correlate between Vincent's original 8-bit XGauges, within the 2 degree resolution versus the 1 degree. I had to wait for the 1 degree resolution to change 2 degrees before the original values would update and be equal.

    I also compared Vincent's original XGauges to his new higher accuracy XGauges and they also compare favorably.

    So we now have choices between 2 degree, 1 degree or 0.1 degree resolution of the battery temps.

    Thanks,

    Dwight
