The phone itself should work. BUT, were you able to upload numberes into the hands free system of your car. Toyota says no...everything else with 3G and 4G works with the car but the phone number transfer.

Sorry to revive this old post. I have a model year 2006 Prius. My Blackberry Pearl has died 4 times in a year, so I'm searching for a new phone that is BT-compatible in my Prius. I've been to the toyota.letstalk.com webpage and wonder how recently updated it is because I don't see any of the latest models available at my TMobile store on the Toyota list. I've done searches here for posts containing some of the latest models, and don't find anything. So...I guess I have two questions:

1- Is there any better place to look for the most up-to-date info besides toyota.letstalk.com??

2- If I get a phone that has other features I'm looking for (wifi phone calling and email), and want to "test" whether the BT features work for me, what do I need to test for? From reading here, it seems that I want to test that the contacts can be copied from the phone to the car such that I can use the speed dial and phone book. Anything else?

my iPhone 4 works perfectly. When connected to the USB, it also works for playing music.

Does your iPhone 4 pair up AND work hands free? Did you have to delete other phone? How did you download address book or numbers into Prius for handsfree. I know the iPhone sim card is smaller than the one in my RAZR.

    Thanks.

I have a Droid X2. The phonebook doesn't transfer, but all other functions and pairing went smoothly. I find it easier to use the phonebook on the phone anyway (and it's safer as i can hold it in front of me... more in line w/my eyes on the road). Once I've selected my contact bluetooth takes over. Before my Droid I had a Samsung Galaxy that also worked well.

    Thanks...

There are a number of phones that pair up with bluetooth. I need reading glasses now, none for distance, so seeing my phone to hit a number to dial just won't work. As bad as texting while driving. With the big hands free screen and speed dial, I just push the button.

The solution if I want an iPhone is to trim down the SIM card from my RAZR and put it in the iPhone. Not going to do that just now.

    Thanks to all who answered.

I've used a couple of Verizon Blackberries successfully in my 2008 Prius. With the new BB I had to change the default name in the phone for the Prius (e.g. change the connection from something like "Handsfree" to something like "Prius") before they would pair.
