My Prius is unlocked and the hatch will not open. When I press the button on the hatch nothing happens. What could the problem be?

I have unfortunately had a problem with the latch lately, and the hatch will come loose (while driving) - I pull over and try to open and re-close and it won't open unless I turn the car completely off.

I know my keyfob can be sketchy - but I think that for me it's some kind of misalignment in the hatch assembly (I had a new one put on.) Hope you figure yours out!

How is your 12V battery? The rear hatch release is electric, so it requires good power.
