I pulled these pictures of the new 2006 color Silver Pine Mica (yet again) from the Carson Toyota website. So those wondering what the color looked like in actual light (as opposed to the pics we've seen of it thus far).

I still don't like this color, don't think I ever will. Too light and washed-out looking. Someone mentioned a few days ago that it would look good if Toyota did a two-tone color with this one. SPM on the top portion of the car, a darker shade on the bottom panels. I agree with them on that...

Wow, it's like Tideland Pearl all over again. Why is Toyota so afraid of green?

Eww that color is not very pretty at all. Toyota, why can't you make a beautiful deep forest type green? Look at BMW colors and learn. Thanks!! <_<

The Electric Green Mica they offered on the Gen 1 (you can look it up on one of the color charts here) was truly green. Apparently it was also their least popular color.

For some reason, these pale colors always look like they need something else, like a two tone approach or special graphics. It's like a canvas with a base coat of paint screaming for something to be added to it. With this color in particular, I would like to see some sort of electric , technology or environment related graphic across the lower side panels or the front hood to give the car a two tone look.

Greens are Neutral colors and it'd be nice if Toyota would really look to nature for their coloration. S.P. Mica is, by itself, not a bad color. It is Fresh, at least.

Volvo's got it down with thier colorways as well as BMW.

Let's get back to nature! how about a Naked Prius!?! ...Just Clear coat it folks!

Ick!!!....like it was left out in the sun too long and faded...

I would have killed for a Hunter (Forest) Green with a slight gold metallic flake and a gold pinstripe.

Okay, not really "killed"....maybe "maimed."

Again, a post showing my age, but the Silver Pine Mica color reminds me of the anodized aluminium tumblers that were popular in the fifties.

There was this light green one that was pretty bad and, from the picture posted, it sure looks about the same. Those damn tumblers never wore out either - I kept getting the urge to beat the green ones to death with a hammer after ten years or so. I bet they are in a yard sale somewhere right now.

That's the new silver? Another reason I'm glad I got the '05. Maybe this will cause the popularity of silver to slow. I see 3 or 4 silvers a day including mine <_< .

I agree...what is up with the new colors? A dark green or a dark blue would be awesome! :D

I had high hope for the Tideland Green replacement but I'm going with Seaside Pearl instead. It will be interesting to see how many sell of the new colors vs. the 05 colors. Interesting side note from my dealer today...most of the cars coming out that are not spoken for will be either white or silver....the other colors are mostly pre-ordered cars.

aka007ii- Silver Pine replaced Tideland as the new Green. There is also a new Silver that replaces the 05' silver. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to take a look at it. If the car is still there (pre-order-oowner might bet me there) I'll snap a pic for comparison and post it. I also want to photgraph the new darker gray interior (cloth).

I agree with much of what is written here. I have to tell you though, that the longer I own my Driftwood Pearl, the more I love it. It isn't as popular as the others around here, I see mostly white and both of the silvers. But I can't tell them apart. The Driftwood seems to look cleaner longer around here, than my previous color cars. dark blue, dark brown, white, red. And I suspect that it will fade less than the more dramatic colors. (reds, blues, blacks)

Thanks! I really like that color, but I wasn't able to see it on a Prius. I did see it on a Sienna right after the 2006 Sienna hit the showrooms, and I changed my color choice to it for the car I have on order.

Well I hate to be one of the only people that thinks Silver Pine Mica is a good looking color, but my wife and I were going to order a 2006 in Seaside Pearl until our salesman called to say he had a SPM ’06 on the lot. After seeing it in person we both agreed it was a beautiful color.

We had previously driven down to see SPM on an Avalon and didn’t like it, ‘too green on too large a car’, but on the smaller Prius it was just right.

The new Bisque interior is very different than last years Ivory, much less yellow. Makes a great combination. It can be seen on Toyota’s website.

I guess, as was said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
