B-Quiet install killed my auto-window-down feature

    I finally got to start my B-quiet and Infinity Kappa 60.7cs install last night. For whatever reason, I started with the driver's side door and put at least a single layer of B-quiet almost the entire outer metal of the door. I doubled up on the B-quiet along the bottom of the door and behind the woofer.

    Several head-scratching problems and a few hours later I put the whole thing back together. The sound is great, but for some reason my auto-up and auto-down window function doesn't work anymore! The hypothesis is that I've covered a sensor with the B-quiet material. Does anybody know more (or have a better guess)?

    Is the B-Quiet going to be impossible to remove once it's been on for 24 hours? By the time I found out it was midnight and I was working in the vehicle bay at my office and still had to drive an hour home!

    I forgot how to do it but there is a way to reset the switch. When you disconnected the connector it causes the auto-up/down function of the switch to disable. Somewhere on PriusChat it was discussed before on how to reset it. I think it may be something as simple as holding the switch down or up for several seconds. Try that first.

    Toggling the power window lock on and off may help; I was once in a mid-90's Camry that randomly had the power window stop working and doing that reset worked.

    Once you disconnect the 12V battery for a bit then reconnect it, you need to lower the driver's window all the way then raise it all the way while holding up the switch until it closes.

    However, unless you disconnected the battery as part of the install I have no idea if this will put things back in working order...

    Yep, probably just need to reset the system as described above. Whenever I remove 12V power I have to roll the windows all the way up and down maybe a couple of times to get the auto up/down working again.

    My understanding is that it senses the number of motor revolutions that it takes to roll the window up or down, and for auto operation needs to be calibrated to know where the top and bottom are, which is done by the procedure above. I don't think there are any external sensors.

    Genius! This was the fix!

    Thanks so much... I would have probably ripped apart my door and torn out all of the B-Quiet trying to fix this...

    This happened to me as well after I installed my speakers. I had thought the tech had not reconnected a wire. I had noticed the flashing "Auto" indicator on the driver's side door and I was embarassed to post my problem on the forum. Thanks for this info. My auto-window works just fine now after reading this thread.
