    Hi all,
New to forum but have been reading for several years. I've been recently battling with the intermittent shut off headlight issue and finally replaced them myself after being disgusted with the $300 bill the dealer wanted to charge me. Pretty easy process actually. A little tight especially the passenger side. Anyways...
While replacing the passenger side HID I first noticed a disconnected wire near the Headlight assembly. Looked like it went to a little motor which sits to the right of headlight housing if facing front of car. My question is what is this connection for and was this the cause of my headlight issues? Or is this some other connection like for the blinker that I didn't know about? Thanks

Some or all US have auto adjusted head lights. Adjusts when weight added to rear seats. Hal

I am also new to the forum and have had similar problems with my wife's 2006 Prius headlights. After letting her drive on one headlight for quite some time as I refused to pay over $500 the dealer wanted I went to Amazon and bought her 2 D4R light bulbs for XMas (I know, cheapskate). I replaced both lights, even though the passenger side was working but turning off occasionally. By the way, I tried the approach on YouTube videos of not removing the bumper cover, but that required me to have super skinny and strong hands; so I opted for removing a few screws and took me about 1 hr to remove and install. The problem I now have is that the passenger side light does not work at all. I switched the light bulbs around and the problem persists. What should I do next to troubleshoot?
