    Hi F8L,

Did some more reading (still not the whole thread) but your attitude is indeed admirable!!!

Hope this hospital visit will go as planned and will give you as much recovery as is possible!!!

Kind regards and I'm rooting for you,

    R-P

Ha, reminds me of the first time I was in a little speed boat on Lake Tahoe. It was the 1st time in like 7 years the closed the lake down due to the wave height. We lasted 30 minutes before they did that, and called it quits. I had a blast, despite it being cold and wet. Someone else in the group, well, that emoticon pretty much describes how she felt LOL.

I'd totally love to go out on the ocean, though.

I might be out in Seattle/Redmond area later this year if I can manage a free flight from my Uncle in MD to see my Uncle in WA. If Justin is able, maybe we can manage a larger group? I'd be game, I'm always up for a good adventure, too.

    Justin,

You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Next week this time, your surgery will be over and you will be on the road to recovery.
    Hang tough!

Our lake is just a tad bigger than Lake Tahoe. Not as big as the ocean, but I'd take ocean swells any day over lake chop.

Here is a video of some of our lake waves, taken from the deck of a 767' freighter:

LOL, just a tad bigger. I've been to Lake Michigan before, but not the other ones yet. Haven't been out on it in a boat, though. I also imagine you don't get many 18' power boats out on the lake, at least not too far out.

One day I'll get back up that way, though. I want to get back onto Mackinaw Island again. It really is a beautiful area up in Northern MI.

I see I shouldn't have posted any reference to boats. This thread is about Justin and his treatment, can we please keep it that way? My mistake. I think most who come here are here for Justin updates, not anything else.

I don't think you need to feel badly about a brief deviation from the thread's topic. Justin likes boats, too, so I doubt he minds - thinking about sailing instead of his upcoming operation might not be such a bad thing after all. :)

It's a VERY long thread so I don't blame you. :) I think at some point I should try to go through it and write down my experience with rectal cancer. This thread has served as a great repository for events and dates which I have neglected to write down anywhere else.

Vic, you're awesome! It's support like this that makes it easier to deal with the horrible stuff they do to me. :)

John, no worries my friend. If anything it makes me want to head to Marin/Sausalito and jump on your boat! Soon my friend! Ohh and remind me to bring your straw hat that Hyo borrowed a few trips back. lol

The operation doesn't bother me much. If anything it's kind of like your first time having sex. I'm so excited I can barely contain it but I'm also a bit scared so I feel a little jittery. Hopefully the operation will go better than my first errr ohh nevermind. I blame that outfit she was wearing! lol

I'll be thinking of you on the 17th, Justin, and hoping for good news as soon as you are awake enough to get on line and tell us how it went.

Glad to read that you are 'excited' about your surgery. That's just another sign that you are essentially a healthy young man who just needs to get a bit of his lung cut out.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers, Justin.

I guess this is a variant of "no pictures, it never happened." Just take a photo of a pretty nurse changing the bandages.

Good luck! and a speedy recovery

    Good luck today!!!

    Mine never look like this:

To be honest: the (dominantly female, late 20, up to early 40's) docs in my hospital are way better looking than the nurses :D (mainly 45+ or gay men).

    Yes, really

(Had the fortune of enjoying their company last week due to pneumonia, but I'm back home already).
