Justin; thanks for the update. glad to hear everything went well. its funny though. you go thru surgery in the morning, up running around the same afternoon. so definitely not a "sit around" type of guy but when i think of you, the #1 image that comes into my head is the one of you taking a cat nap out in the middle of a field somewhere.

to me the picture epitomizes you as being completely comfortable and in your element with the outdoors. some might think its laziness but we all know better.

make sure you dont overextend yourself. give yourself time, you have plenty of it!

Justin taking a cat nap in the middle of a field is called "sleeping on the job". Most of us can get fired for that sort of thing.

I think this one will go quickly. So far the recovery is better than the prior 3 surgeries and the doctor said I will likely go home on Friday or Saturday. :)

I made sure they marked my left side with a sharpe before they knocked me out. ;)

Dave, I'm taking it rather easy. They have too many tubes and wires hooked up for me to go far. The surgeon just stopped by to say he thinks I'm doing great and that he could'nt find anything else in or on my lungs so there is a good chance that I only had 1 tumor in there. If that is the case then I may be cancer free for now. While that doesn't really mean much until I make it past the fifth year of being cancer free, it sure does make me feel great!

    Shshhhhhh ;)

F8L....just reading this thread for the first time...my thoughts are with you...

Real talk, please PM me on the symptoms your dr found to diagnose you with colon/rectal cancer. I am going through some medical crap right now with my own body and I just don't trust these doctors....

That seems to be good news on the surgery. Do they give you the tumors in jars? You could have a nice collection by now.

Hey, it was kind of the girlfriend's idea. I guess she has a think for brunettes!

No but I am going to order up all of my X-rays for an artist friend. She is producing a work that uses them to illustrate the durability of the human body. :D

I think a short walk to a long Bar and getting something " Long Tall and Cool", is what everyone is trying to say!

Well this sounds good to me. They released me today so I'm at home getting much needed rest. As many of you know a hospital is a terrible place to try and sleep.

I'm still waiting for the results of the pathology report. The surgeons told me a number of times that My lungs are in perfect condition and they didn't see anything suspicious in my entire left lung. I think this is a other great example of why youshouldnt smoke.

Most of the pain I have been fighting since Tuesday was a result of the large chest tube they had jammed between my ribs to assist in draining the lung area of blood and other fluids until the area is sealed and can handle extra fluids naturally. Until they removed the tube I was dining on a cycle of diladid, norco, and Motrin. the surgeon came into my room this morning to remove the chest tube. I started to get a little scared because I knew he was just going to yank it out of my body like they do when removing a urinary catheter. He grasp the tube were it exits my chest, got a solid grip on it then told me to take two deep breaths then hold the third. While holding the third, he instructed me to hum as powerfully as I could. I belted out a powerful hum that would have made Thor proud. And just like that, the surgeon yanked the tube out my chest at which point I was surprised to see that about 16" of this tube had been inside my chest for the last few days. No wonder i was in pain!

In summary the experience was a good one and I am happy with both the immediate results and the prospect of living longer. There were a lot of PC members who contributed in my time of need and I hope that my exploits since those days are making them proud to have acted as a sponsor in this epic battle. I love you guys!
