Help, I need to find the best tires for my 2009 prius. We are moving from Florida to Germany. I have about 60,000 miles on my car and need new tires. The sales person at the Toyota Dealership recommended Yokuma
    tires or something like that.

What are your opinions? What tires do you love on your car? HELP!!!! Thanks Marissa

OK, I recommend Conti Pro with Eco Plus, a Continental tire with good performance and low rolling resistance. This is a US "all weather tire". Similar Continental tires are available in Germany (Continental is based in Germany) but in Europe tires tend to be "summer" or "winter" tires, not "all weather". If you're buying in Germany I recommend the top one on this list (in the correct size for your Prius of course):

    ADAC Test - Sommerreifen
    2008 - 175/65 R14

In Europe if you use summer tires or all season tires in the winter and get into an accident the insurance company will not pay for the damages as you are stupid stupid stupid. always use winter tires in the winter, that's the European way and thats how it should be in America.

I live in the UK part of Europe and you can use whatever tyres you want provided they are of the correct specification or above fore the vehicle, and have more than 2mm of tread. Winter summer all seasons makes no difference in law or to insurance. Some EU countries have different regulations, but at last count there were 45 countries that made up Europe so that what applies in one part of Europe does not apply all over Europe. Some countries require studs in the winter and in other countries including the UK they are illegal.
So please when talking about Europe do not make the mistake that it is one country with one set of laws it is not.
