I used to drive a Corolla, and when my trunk couldn't handle the size of the goods I put in it, I used a bungie cord to hold the trunk lid down by locking it into the latch on top and hooking it to the latch on the bottom. I release it when I arrived home by turning the key in the lock. How do you release it on the V Three? I tried the fob, and it wouldn't release. I slammed the trunk closed in frustration (not good), but the cord did release then. Doesn't sound like the thing to do. Any advice on how to gently do this? I love fitting 8-ft boards in the car, but it doesn't quite fit 7 foot doors and me in the car.

I'm not 100% certain on this but if your car has tie downs like the gen III does I would use those instead of the lock.

Yes, I can use the tie downs for the cargo, but I want to hold the hatch as far closed as possible. I don't want to drive with it in the fully open position.

Oh - nevermind. I used the fob before. Just now I pushed the button on the outside of the hatch (near the camera) and it popped right out when I tried it.

    Alternately you could:

    Pull on the bungie.
Press the same button you would press to open the hatch if it was closed.

    That should work the lock.
