So I bought two new HID bulbs for my 2007 prius. Mostly it had been the left one that turned off after a while. So i put a new bulb in and it goes out after about 10 seconds. So i put the other new bulb in and it goes out after 10 seconds too.

I bought them from this guy.

    Pair(2)New OEM D2R Philips HID bulb 85126 German(Osram) | eBay

Do you think they are fake? He has a lot of good feedback and he seemed legit.

Is there something else wrong with my headlight system?

Of course if I turn the headlights off then on again, the light goes on for 10 seconds again.

Regardless if you bought from that guy, if you bought D2R bulbs, they're the wrong ones for the 06-09 Priuses. You need D4R.

Are you past 5 years or 50K miles on your car?

Will the d2R bulb even fit into the same socket and use the same plug as the D4R?
