    Dealer
    Sunnyvale Toyota in Sunnyvale, CA

    Timeframe
    3-4 months

    Colors:
    Black, Seaside Pearl, Barcelona Red

    Option Package
We said any. It's the commute car so we weren't picky what was in it.
I believe packages 3,6,7,8 are available in the Bay Area.

    # on Waiting List
    294

Took Delivery of a Barcelona Red, Package 8 with Bisque Leather on 12/6/05.
That's about 1 month of waiting!

This was our 2nd most pleasant car buying experience ever. I love the whole car buying experience "hunt" (armed with with info from BBs of course). DH does not. DH was able to take care of mostly everything and I had to just show up to sign the papers. I also have never paid anything close to MSRP for a car and had a little issue with that, but got over it as soon as I saw what other dealers in the Valley are charging.

We paid MSRP + floormats minus $350. They do add-on the floormats, but those are something I always want anyway.

Sunnyvale Toyota has a set price:
package 3 is $150 off MSRP
package 6 is $250 off MSRP
    packages 7 & 8 are $350 off MSRP

Our guy, John "Papas" Papadoupoulos, called us last week to offer us the car. I needed to see what this new red looked like and he showed us someone elses Barcelona Red, Package 7 last Friday. The red pops out at you and is peppy. It's not too orange-y (think 90's BMW red) otherwise I would have passed.

DH took it to work so no pics until the weekend or else until I convince him to take one of the other cars to work. (He carpools anyway!)

    hope this helps!

Woo hoo! The first reported Bay Area '06! Congrats!

Good dealership, I hear. I admire their little discount "policy", too, even if it is token. Beats gouging all to heck.

    Enjoy!

Why on earth would anyone sell this car for below MSRP?????? It is such high demand due to the carpool lane????

Congratulations! I think I saw your car from a distance. I picked up my Classic Silver Pkg 7 from Sunnyvale on Dec. 4. My car was parked on the roof next to finance. I asked Direct Sales Manager Zion Rowan to see Barcelona Red. We walked to the edge of the roof and he pointed to the only Barcelona Red Prius in the lot below.

We also had a great buying experience. My daughter was whining (tired and hungry). Zion brought her chips and water. He expedited the process so that it only took 1.5 hours.

Toyota Sunnyvale got a new owner 3 years ago and instituted this 10-point value guarantee.

#2 on the list is: Every New Vehicle is Priced Below the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price.

I am telling everyone I know - family, friends, the Mommy network from all the playgroups, BBs, my alumni associations (I went to schools in northern and southern Cal), heck...even people at Lunardis...that if they want to buy a Prius to go buy it in Sunnyvale.

I have to give them props for not caving in to the big mark up over MSRP.

And thanks to everyone else for the congrats. There are a lot of new cars popping up all over the South Bay right now. DH saw 5 on the way home from work today. We probably will run into each other on the road soon!
