It would potentially be true of any car you purchase that's been "abused" at the dealer's. It's not specifically a Prius problem.

I vote that you left a door open or a light on.

I want you to know that this is very true. It's not BS. And, the longer you have a car sitting, with folks in and out, the worse it gets. Light on, light off, doors open, lights on, no charging of the battery by driving... and BAM, dead 12v battery.

    A quick jump handles it.

Yes that seems to be ecactly what happened to me. The dealer killed the battery several times before i bought it. The salesman even said they had to boost it again to take it out of the showroom.

The dealer has given me a brand new battery so I think I should be good to go.

Just have to get the windows tinted this week and I'll be all set. :)

Get yourself a trickle charge and charge the battery for few hours overnight.

A reading of 12.66 volts indicates a fully charged battery; 12.45 volts is 75% charged, 12.24 volts is 50% charged, and 12.06 volts is 25% charged.

Leaving the doors slightly ajar overnight will drain any car battery. Get in the habit of locking the car every time you leave it. (Car won't lock unless all doors are fully closed). This way you won't drain your battery.
