I had a new 12V battery installed on my 2006 prius last week. After this was done-my navigation zoom in and zoom out buttons are grayed out permanently; and the voice activation button does not work. I tried unplugging and replugging the nav system under the driver's seat and ejecting the disc. Called the dealer and they are saying they never heard of this. Any ideas? THANKS

Make sure you are getting good voltage on the 12V bus. If that's okay, try disconnecting the 12V battery for a few minutes to let everything reset.

I had a new battery installed by the dealer Wednesday. I was told the tech would use a power source to keep all the settings while he changed out the 12 volt. Didn't happen, but the only thing my nav system lost was the zone, which I had to re-select. Also had to go through all the warning systems for reverse gear, seatbelts, etc. The radio presets are gone, but since I use only one station for news and traffic, and otherwise listen to cd's, that's not a problem.
Good luck on getting your nav back the way it is supposed to work.

Thanks for the replies. I disconnected the power supply to the navigation unit for a few hours and then plugged back in-everything is now working again.

    scottie1,
I just had the same Nav problems, no voice, no zoom ( + & - grayed out). Had car in for 110,000 service and was told by dealer that the Nav system had a system failure and needed replacement at the cost of $1200 plus $300 labor. Some 2000 miles ago Main Hybrid Battery failed and was replaced by Toyota, good move on their part. This may have been the cause to my current problem. I will try disconnect the 12V battery and leave it for a while. See It does pay to use PriusChat and go back and read old Post.
