We had to buy a new car this weekend, and after reading up on the Prius, we decided to spring for it because of the savings in gas mileage.

It took us three days and visiting SEVEN dealerships in person to get the amazing deal we got...<drumroll> a brand new Prius 2011 Two for $20,850 (before adding tax, title, fees, etc.). The car also came with carpet mats, threshhold protector, and florida legal tint (which is a wee bit too light for me, but oh well).

We were originally going to buy a used prius, but found the prices to be much higher then we could get new. I now look forward to reading as much of the newbie forum threads as I can!

That is a great deal... even @ MSRP the Prius is a good deal. Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride!

That's a great price! Hard work pays off. Best I got quoted for an '11 was $22,610. With that price we decided to pay a little more to get a '12 instead.

Here in LA, the best advertised price is around 21,400, you did good! Enjoy the ride and the gas savings, here we just hit $4 a gallon for gas over the weekend, and I'm sure there will be more price jumps before summer is over.:(

That's an amazing deal. Can you please tell me which dealership did you buy it from? I live in Florida and planning on buying a Prius in a week or so. Thanks.

Hi there - I don't wish to hijack this thread (way to go sanderson88!:)), but I just have to ask: who's advertising a 2011 Prius II for around 21,400? I'm in LA and am looking to buy one this weekend!

Just look in either the Saturday LA Times or the OC Register and you will see ads for several dealers selling the II's at these prices.

I would also guess if you called the fleet or internet manager and said that the other dealer has it for that price what can they do - you will get an even lower price. But you will have to talk with the fleet/internet manager not a regular sales person as they have no power. Then call the other dealer that has it advertised and talk with their fleet manager and let them know what you can get it from from the 1st dealer and let them bid on the car for you too. Then play them off each other a couple of times.

They want your business and will bid against one another. Do it all over the phone and secure the deal even before you go in. Don't go in until you have the deal you want. If they want play ball call another dealer and let them make a bid to you to sell you the car. You can also negotiate finance rates terms, options, etc...

This is the last weekend of the month and it's a great time to get better deals. There are plenty of 2011 II's hanging around and they are motivated to sell them. Use this to your advantage and have fun with it and call 4 - 5 dealers and you will get a great price. Let us know how it goes.

The two ads I noticed in last weeks LA Times were from Santa Monica Toyota and Miller Toyota. A year ago I bought mine from Miller. I'd suggest using the internet or calling the internet manager at either dealership. I did find Miller easier to deal with.
