Prius looks like the Aztec ?

Do YOU think "the Prius looks much like the Aztec"? Explain.

 

I suppose it does in some respects but I still think it looks much better than the Aztec. In the same way that I think an Audi TT looks something like the new VW Beetle. The Audi is a sleeker squashed down version of the Beetle to me, sharing a lot of the styling contours but still a different and much better looking car in my opinion.

 

I have to admit, in the early days, before I bought the car, people would ask what the car looked like and I admit....I would say....like a mini-Aztec.

there's some mercedes out there (the c230?) that has a hatch design like the prius... rear window and lower glass panel.

If you find the two of them parked at meters, one in front of the other, squint at them and you'll see their profiles are almost identical.

Disclaimer: do not do this while driving.

 

Until you see them from the side and then you can see the sleek lines of the Prius compared to the box like squared off Aztec!

A better phrasing woud be that the Aztec looks like the Prius' less attractive brother.

 

Actually, I think that the Aztec looks more like a Honda CRX on Steroids :blink:

I have one (a CRX) with 200k miles on it.

 

I believe the Audi TT, VW Beetle, and VW Golf all use the same chassis.

 

There are similarities, but I think the Prius is prettier from all angles than an Aztec, CRX, or even C230. The merc is pretty nice, but lacks the Prius's funky uniqueness.

 

Looks closer to a Pontiac Vibe than it does an Aztek to me.

 

If you simply removed the bottom 1 ft or so of the Aztec's body, then it might come a little bit closer to resembling a Prius.

Or, put a Prius on stilts and hang a skirt from the bottom, and it might come a little closer to looking like an Aztec.

 

Yes they do.

And so does Seat Leon, Seat Toledo, Skoda Octavia, VW Touran and others too.

Saves money to do it this way, for the parent company VW that is...

theres really no comparison from Aztec to Prius except for the back hatch becuase the Aztec is a huge SUV and the Prius is a mid-sized car

I think the Aztec is awesome from the 1st day i saw one i wanted one and when the Prius came along I loved it too because it has the str8 edge hatch on the back

I think it gives it a more modern look if you've seen the interior of the Aztec the air vents and the whole dash is very modern looking - futuristic - I think a lot of people see something designed around a modern furturistic concept and just turn their nose up and say its ugly without really looking at it with open eyes and a open mind.
