Alright, my flame suit is on for this one. I come from the wrx boards where people are insane when stupid questions are asked. I searched and found no answers so here goes....what is up with voltage stabilizers like the one being sold on juicedhybrid, and the Ad Hoc Voltaggio....I have been working on cars for a long time and have never heard of something like this producing any benefits, but there are many independent reviews on the Internet that say that small improvements can be had...I was thinking that because a hybrid is a hybrid, if these things do work, they might be even more efficient on a hybrid, but then again, if they did work at all,you guys would all have them on your cars....weigh in with your thoughts if you are not going to be a jerk to me for even asking about this...to me it kind of sounds like the whole turbonator as seen on tv deal....BS.....

    1) I think it is just a placebo.

    2) if it worked at all, it would be 'smoothing' the output of the alternator. A Prius has no alternator. 12 volt (actually 13.7 v) is provided by a DC to DC converter that is not dependent on engine RPM like an alternator.

As worthless as I think it is in general, it would do best on a vehicle with a marginal alternator or regulator, barely able to make 12 volts at idle and/or way over 12 volts at redline.

That's what I was thinking too...if it worked it would only work on an old vehicle with electrical issues....like an old vw golf or something....thank you for your response. Definitely gonna go for something else now and put the money elsewhere.

They have been shown to be effective at removing excess cash from the pockets of suckers. Other than that they are useless.

I am taking the money and putting it towards a rear bumper protector and body side moldings.
