I put it on the ground for ease of service and so I could keep the snow off of it. I'm 68 and I don't climb on my roof much any more, especially in the snow. Also, I can adjust the elevation angle every few months.

I'm not getting rich with it, but I do like to be able to say that I am driving completely "green". Four panels at 225 watts is 0.9 Kw. Last year it pushed 1106 Kwh back onto the grid. If you want to watch it's performance, here is the link.
