I may be colorblind, but I could swear that my 2010 Prius V - although titled Winter Gray metallic actually looks blue in the right light. Anyone else see it?

    Its blueish/purpleish.
Why did Toyota stop using Magnetic Grey for the Prius.? It was such a great metallic grey color.

My wife says winter gray has a tint of blue. Mine looks blue in certain light and angles and gray in others.

It's sort of a chameleon. Can look gray, purple or blue depending on light.

I find the same thing. I like the changes it makes in the light. With winter most of the time now ours has a nice white salt frosting on top which limits the amount of color changes.

Yeah it has a hint of blue (purple even) in it. The colour code starts with "8" which is Toyota-speak for blue.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks Winter Gray hinted at a slightly not-gray. :)

Maybe you can't discern it, but I can assure you it looks purple (Old Lavender as someone mentioned) under certain lighting conditions.

One of my co-workers first thought it was purple. I was like, really? It does seem to vary slightly by the light, but overall, I call it steel gray.

The color isn't blue but it picks up blue from the surroundings. I don't see any purple. It looks bluer when the sky is blue.

Here's one that picks up some blue:

Also, some products like Zaino Z-5 can significantly darken the WGM color, so if you prefer it darker apply some Z-5.

This thread is actually making me glad I went with the Blizzard Pearl.

It is definitely on the bluer side of gray compared to the previous grey metallic.

Why do you say that? If anything, the constantly changing chameleon effect of WGM (as well as Sea Glass on the 2012 and Bamboo Pearl on the Lexus RX) makes it interesting.

I just don't like the chameleon effect. If I'm getting grey, I want grey....grey that looks blue or purple in the right light.

For me, it was precisely because of the color of the new grey that I choose it.

Blizzard Pearl is a gorgeous color, but the purplish in the Winter Grey is what stole my heart.
