rear camera

    Quick question I have not been able to figure out---is the rear camera standard on every prius? Or is it just available if you get the navigation system?

    Correct, only on navi packages. There were a couple of articles that claimed they were standard bc the 6.1" stereo display is standard on 2012 models. But that is incorrect.

    thanks. Makes the nav pretty much essential then. On the prius I test rented, i found the camera very needed.

    I dont have one and dont have any problem backing up. I have been in a few Lexus that had them, as a passenger I noticed I was the only one looking at the display.

    Another friend has one on the rear view mirror of his suburban, and it is probably the best place for the display.

    In the UK and Europe. Backup camera is standard on all 2012 prii (according to Toyota spec), even without nav. Might also be true in other countries. Would appear to be not true in the USA.
