I just bought 2012 Prius Model 4 with the solar package and upgraded Nav. Love the car. I have a problem with the contacts in the phonebook. My iPhone has over 2000 contacts from work. Can't and don't want to load them all. I can't figure out how to load or create a contact without using my bluetooth phone.

How do I just sit in the car and manually add a contact to the car without using the iPhone?

    Thanks.

I don't think you can manually add contacts to either of the new systems anymore. I've seen some others modify their contact list on the phone, pair the phone, then set it to not auto download contacts at connection and it uses the old list rather than the restored full list. This is with the Premium HDD though.

I think you're right. I looked a youtube videos on how to add contacts to 2010 and 2011 prius phonebooks. They had a menu to add contacts. Mine doesn't other than simply downloading from the phone. How stupid was that to leave off that menu???"??

I called Apple and contacted Toyota. Can't limit contact list or add individual contacts with certain bluetooth phones.

However, you can set bluetooth setting not to upload your contacts, but do upload favorites and recents, which is much more managable.
