Had ours for just about one month (Black #9) and have yet to see another Prius outside of the dealer's demo. Attended a Democratic Party organizing meeting this morning at the local library and saw - not one, but two others were parked (one with Dean bumpersticker the other with a Kerry one)

Hi. I live in Chester County. Ever since I ordered my 04 I have had my eye out for Prius's. I have seen them here and there but not a lot. Yesterday I was driving my son to soccer and a Salsa Red 04 passed me. My heart shot through the roof. Very cool. Mine is due in at the end of the month.
I am a Republican but I am on the fence right now with all this crap going on.

As rare as 04's are in my neck of the woods, I saw two of them yesterday. The first one was a blue (tideland?) that passed by me by the racetrack (Hwy 115 and I-35w). I was parked off of the side of the road writing down directions to check out another motorcycle.

The second one was a white one that was travelling northbound on I-35w.

I'm not a democrat or a republican. I'm a Libertarian that would be just fine with seeing BOTH parties get booted out on their butts, and the current system get a badly needed overhaul.

Hmmm...might need to move this one to the General section due to all the political talk. It is very facinating how this one car can unite so many different political groups.

Back to the original issue - we also live in Chester County and own a 04 Salsa (since March 29). I have passed another 04 Salsa on the way to work along Route 1 and have gotten behind a White on the way home from Concord Mall one night. My wife regularly sees a Seaside Pearl one in downtown Kennett and I have seen a Tideland, a Silver and Driftwood in passing. The only one I haven't seen is the Black - I'll have to keep my eye out for you Lectricar

My complaint is with the "jack-asses" in "elephant" clothing.

The Blue is "Seaside Pearl"; "Tideland Pearl" is allegedly green, but the ones I have seen are more grey, about the color of the wet sand just after the wave retreats. Nice color, though and well named.
As for Demos and Republicans, it's sad that the country has become so polarized; perhaps not since slavery and the Civil War have we been so divided.
Johno, the "on the fence Republican" who has a Prius is probably not alone among Repubs; perhaps, in a tiny way, the Prius can be a rallying icon to a greater sense of environmental stewardship regardless of party affiliations. I even read that there is a movement among Evangelical Christians to promote environmental protection because, as accounted in scripture, we were made stewards of the earth and, as these Evangelicals realize, we have done a lousy job.......

    Well said.

Good ideas such as less pollution and gas savings are not the exclusive property of Ds or Rs. It's encouraging that my neighbors are purchasing vehicles that help the environment.

Oh, 53.5 mpg today in a jaunt from Malvern to Media, to Norristown and back to the office in Malvern. Seems that the increase in MPG is directly correlated to the ambient temperature....it's in the 80s
