    Greetings,

I have an '08 Prius Hybrid. I recently developed an issue that needs addressing.

The problem is that whenever I put my blinkers on my rear view camera turns on. Similarly, when I put the car in reverse, my blinkers turn on. So I suspect the functions have been switched, and I was wondering how I can fix it back. Is there a control box/electrical box that deals with this issue?.

    Thanks in advance...

I suppose it is possible for something like this to happen spontaneously, but first, have you had any work done on the car, such as having a new stereo installed, Lockpick, etc.

Sounds to me like you have an electrical short between reversing lights and indicators, could be in the loom or one of the rear lights. Try unplugging each rear light in turn to see if it clears the problem. It could also be an earth (ground) fault in one of the rear lights.

I took apart the car because there was water leaking into the car. I took everything apart, found the hole fixed it and put everything back together.

I just tried unplugging each taillight and it does not remedy the problem. Any ideas?

    Update:

Just wanted to update in case somebody runs into this problem. I wanna say thanks to you that helped me out figure this out.

Turns out it WAS a ground issue. The ground located right under the trunk lock was hanging in by a thread that was easy to miss when I checked a bit earlier. I re grounded the wire and now everything is back fine.

Thank you for the time and the effort!
