Does someone make adjustable struts that are a direct replacement for the factory struts?

That's good to hear the rebound is not out of control. No fun finding a trustable alignment shop :(

So all things considered, were the springs worth it?

If you want adjustability, get coilovers. The springs and shocks are a matched set and you get plenty of adjustment as well as the ability to go much lower than springs alone.

No way, i'm definitely getting a body kit. Probably TOMS though since it's a bit more aggressive than the toyota kit. Makes the car looks sooo much better. Just like lowering does.
You could say that the plus package springs were a waste of money when you could have gotten the eibach springs shipped for under 2 bills. ;)

    Springs were $225.

    Sway Bar was $262.

So, I could've gotten a set of a/m springs and saved myself a whopping $30. I would have risked warranty issues, blowing out struts even earlier, and be riding on a set of springs that were not as thoroughly tested as mine.

Have fun! The backs are pretty hard to do without 2 people. Unless you cheat and unbolt both sides at once, then you risk damaging the bushings.

Really? I had no problems at all installing my Eibach springs by myself.

You probably removed both shocks at once.

Well, bad news. A trip to a third alignment rack confirms that the LR toe is way off-- about 0.35-0.40 depending on the day. Prior to the drop, my LR toe was already in the 0.20-0.24 range, so the drop resulted in an additional 0.10 or so. My RR toe was 0.10-0.15 before the drop, so even with the drop it is OK.

I will be pulling the left-rear hub and installing one of those EZ-SHIMs and spacers next week.

That stinks. Has that corner ever smacked a curb or pot hole or anything that would have bent the control arm a tiny bit?

Nope. I talked to some techs at the dealer today, and they told me that just about every Prius they've aligned will have near-perfect readings on one side of the car, and the other side will be near or completely out of spec.

If you saw Dark's post in my other alignment thread, you'll notice that even his LR toe is much worse than his RR toe....again for reasons unknown.

Hmmm, that sucks. Do you think I should be concerned about my car? I am wondering if they would do an alignment on it after installing the TRD springs.

I think I retract my previous statement that they are not doing alignments. They have to be. Perhaps it is just assumed, so that is why they do not list it as a step in the instructions.

Do not worry about it, as it is beyond your control. It is one of the downsides of a Prius-- having an ancient suspension instead of a 4-wheel independent.

Twist beam in the rear. I forgot about that. Well I think I will be fine then. If I do decide to run some autocross then I will get it on a rack and see where it's at and decide what I want to set it at. Shims & those concentric bolts :p

    Thanks,
    Mike :tea:

Got mine installed! Love them. Back was easy of course, front took a little longer, okay a lot longer.

Just wanted to add some action shots to this thread. Took some of the wifey as she left this morning. Also one that shows the difference in stock and plus springs.
