Hi all, new to the forum. It's great. I bought a new 2011 three weeks ago. It has a Rosen Nav, and I took it in to Toyota for the SiriusXM installation.

I get crystal clear reception in the morning it seems, then buzzy and static in afternoon. Do you think this is a loose connection? Or, am I supposed to have the FM set to a particular station? Perhaps I am moving the FM frequency around?

Thanks for any input you can share! Toyota looking at it in a few days, but thought I'd try the experts here today.

    Mike

    Sounds like loose connections.

I believe that since the Sirius signal is digital...it either works or it doesn't. ....

Thx Gary! Good point on the digital signal. I think the guy just rushed the installation - good intentions on his part, poor outcome. Taking it in tomorrow to fix.

We have it in our 2011 package 4. I have also installed the Toyota XM kit in a 4 Runner and a Lexus SUV....never any problems.

If it is under warranty then have them check it. Otherwise I'm sure the kit installation instructions can be found on line somewhere.

It's pretty amazing how much of the cars can be disassembled with only a 10mm socket, a phillips screwdriver and a plastic pry tool. One just needs to remove things in a proper sequence.

The OP has a Rosen Navigation system. I'm not sure if the earlier models had a satellite radio option. His satellite reception could be staticy if an FM modulator is being used to connect with the HU.

Update: the culprit is/was a bad cable. Toyota replaced it, working fine now.

    Thx for the input!
