I want to get a third spare key for my sister in case she needs to drive it. I want to know how much usually the spare key cost and how long does it take to order one from the dealership.

Dealers usually stock fobs, but the price with programming and mechanical (back up key-cutting) will scare you. Phone multiple dealers, but expect to hear Gen3 prices in the +$300 range. You may want to try calling an automotive locksmith too. Perhaps you can post the quotes you received on this forum.

If you are near Boulder, CO or Berkeley, CA we can supply used Gen2 or Gen3 FOB for around $125 including programming. (hard key extra)

This topic should be moved to the Gen3 forum, since the OP indicated owning a 2010 Prius.

Gen1 Prius (2001-2003) keys can be cut by any hardware store and you can program yourself if you have at least one working master (black not gray) key and can follow directions.
