Hybrid technology developed by Toyota is one of the best pieces of engineering around. Brilliant, even.

Great to hear that you have purchased an Auris HSD. Post some picture of your car, so we can see what it looks like over here in the states. Go ahead and use one of those incredible Greek Mediterranean backdrops if you feel you have to! The Acropolis will do, too!

    So jealous, here.:)

I would be happy to, but you see i live far from acropolis!! I can see it from my appartment, but to get there its really far!! I will try to take a nice shot by the sea though!! =)

We will go to a trip to another town, 300km away, tomorrow. We will be staying to my wife's parrents for a while. This will be a great way for it to break in, isnt it? I read here that i shouldnt pass 75 km/h for a long time, and i should not travel with a constant speed (its impossible anyway here in greece).. No hard acceleration... Is there any other tips? (ps.1 am i spoiling the forum for creating a new thread just to type that i bought a hybrid?...) (ps.2 I am really really sorry for my bad english, maybe i "killed" some words there.... I wish my browser had a spell checker xD )

Congrats... And who said that Auris HSD should have worse results than Prius ;-).
I've been to Acropolis... Athens are pretty big from that point of view. Keep fingers crossed that you will successfully overcome euro crisis. I really liked to be in Greece two times.

Get few pics of car in Ready positions to allow our friends in US see chrome grill part exclusive to HSD and LED daylights engaged. :)
How about trunk cargo area? I went for Prius because I thought it's too small to carry anything...

    :focus:
It's definitely good way to break it in.
My manual says (from Prius, Auris and Yaris - this text is the same in all Toyota manuals) that you should not drive near maximum speed (180kmh), don't accelerate at full power (in Auris HSD means push accelerator only to the first part of PWR zone), try not to keep constant speed for long time (it is to allow ICE engine spin in a wide range of RPMs - hard to do in hybrid ;) ) and if possible try not to brake hard (ie. engaging ABS).
The last one is to allow all parts to fit thight to their positions.
You should also check wheels pressure (at least 15 minutes after short trip, 3 hours after highway run) and visually verify that all wheel screws are secured.
I think that normal highway speeds (110 - 130 kmh) should not be a problem for the car. You can reach that speeds even without entering PWR zone.

Since this car is very quiet you can hear parts of rubbers from wheels hitting body of the car for few kilometers (mine Michelin Primacy HP did this for ~ 100 km).

Glad to have you here in the forum. Tip: you are not spoiling the forum and , in fact, you are adding by posting here :welcome:
You remind me of our excitement when we first bought our first Prius back in 2005 and are now on our 4th. Prius # 2 was totalled while on a trip across the US to the East Coast.
You also have nothing to apologize for regarding your English. I wish I spoke Greek as well as you communicate in my language.
Visited Athens many years ago while in the navy - in 1954. A beautiful city.
