Wanted to test drive a C and went to San Marcos Toyota. The car was reading in kilometers, and I asked the salesman how to switch to mph. Four salesmen and not one of them knew how. I asked if they had the owner's manual; was told that they were "locked up in the back". I googled "how do switch from kilometers to miles in a Prius c. A link to this site came up and I told all of them that they could find the answer on page 88 of the manual. Finally one guy reluctantly wandered off and retrieved a manual. He actually asked me what page to look at when he came back. Ridiculous that four salesmen (and two seemed to be managers) did not know this information. They spent fifteen minutes wasting my time while they tinkered with everything in the car instead of just looking at the d*mned manual. I did not have this problem with Cavender Toyota. Our salesman, Tony, is knowledgeable, understood that I was very firm on my options and color. That is why I bought my C there. Technically, waiting on it to hit port, but on the way. I hope the guys in San Marcos do a little more reading about their newest product- they should assume that people are going to want to check it out, and we are in Texas! There is nothing in kilometers here except for running and cycling events! Sorry so long, but wanted to throw that out there. Am totally psyched to quit driving my SUV to work forty miles away!!!

Off hand I'll guess the other guys could have handled your color choice, too.
Anyway, congrats on your new car. The less SUVs, the better

Nope. Our salesman called and said he could put the order in, but there was no guarantee I would get what I wanted. Said it could be eight weeks or never. Those were his exact words.

Yeah, I decided not to order or wait.
With the demand of these, and their better MPG, AND a lower price tag than reg Prius
I wasnt going to wait indefinitely on a color.

Good for you not buying from non knowledgeable salesmen.
    THAT is their job.
But I guess you could say that it was an overlooked fix and being how
new these are, most would not have known....but still!

As Dianne Whitmire has indicated the supply of hybrids depends on sales of hybrids. So it stands to reason that dealer hybrid knowledge would correlate to its allocation and that you'd have more difficulty ordering a car there.

Congratulations on the purchase. I hope you enjoy the car as well as the facts that you're significantly reducing gasoline consumption and that relative to your SUV it may be paying for itself in gas savings.

If you left it in km/h you could drive almost twice as fast! On the other hand if the fuel tank was still in litres, you'd use about 4 times more.

In Canberra the dealers are quite knowledgeable with the Prius and Camry Hybrid because there are so many hybrids sold for Government fleet. Of course, I know more because I read PriusChat and they don't and I saw the Prius α / Prius V in Japan last year and I get Japanese Prius magazines (that I can't really read). And I don't have to know about every other car in the range. :)

lol When I first left for the test drive, I was thinking, "Holy Cow! I'm going 90. That can't be right!" This is the longest wait- not really, but I am ready to save on gas!!!!
