Not that any of them are particularly unique.

I have owned several other Honda, Toyota, and nissans but they were all built on north American soil

I bought the wife an '09 Prius. That was the first non-American car I've had. She drives it, I pay for it. I really don't consider it mine.

I had an '89 CRX right before this. Sold it last week and picking up the C this afternoon. The CRX was really an awesome buy at $875. Lots of rust but basically sound. I had the maintenance up to daily driver standard and sold it after 4.5 years for $900. I miss it already.

1982 Nissan Sentra MPG - extremely light weight, no AC, 43-58 mpg
2003 Honda Civic Hybrid - good commuter car, uncomfortable seats, 46-51 mpg
2009 Honda Civic EX- nice car, uncomfortable seats, 40-45 mpg

I don't hyper mile. These mpg numbers are during normal driving, but with varying conditions.

I bought a Datsun B210 in Victoria, BC and drove it for five years before selling it for as much as I paid. Can't complain.

Japanese cars aren't exactly unique around here - they're everywhere. I'd kinda like one of these, with a 'que' licence plate.

I've been for a ride in a friend's Nissan Figaro, and seen a few S Cargo as well. There's also the cutest little gardening truck that looks like it would fit in the bed of an F150.

Maybe unique wasn't the right word, but I considered the Toyota Echo and the Scion xb I owned to be different than alot of other cars with their central mounted gauges and their quirkiness. And some of the other ones people are posting on here are certainly rare or not seen real frequently in my neck of the woods. Either way, I like to here what other people have driven and what has brought them to the Prius or Prius c. And yes, it would be cool to see on of those lol!!

It's tough to call almost any car "American" anymore since most brands/models use parts/assemblies from all over the world.

I find it mildly amusing when someone in a Chevy truck tries to give the owner of a Toyota Camry a hard time for driving a Jap car. lol

My love affair with Japanese cars started in 1984 with a 1982 Nissan 200SX.
    Since then:
1983 Celica GT (great car that got 40 MPG on the highway)
    1987 Mitsubishi Galant
    1994 Mazda Protege
    1999 Honda Accord
    2006 Mazda 3
    2008 Suzuki XL-7
    2009 Infiniti G-37x
