    Hi guys,I found a socket under my 2001 prius yesterday.I have attached a pic of the socket.Does anyone know what it is for?

    That is the OBD2 socket where you can plug in a code scanner.

    Just as ericw28 said.

    Its on all vehicles produced after 1996. If you have a check engine light or on the prius the "triangle of death" This is where you can connect a code reader/scanner and see what triggered the error and enable you to clear it. This is also the same port that the dealerships plug their gadgets into as well.

    For what its worth, this is where you would plug your Scanguage into that so many forum members have......
