This is my one BIG peeve with my new C. This thing has more rattles than a Babys R Us. Even my '08 Yaris Hatchback that was lowered 2" inches didnt rattle this bad with <1000 miles on it. The rear hatch covers, the dash, something in the driver's door. I have to listen to music to drown it out. I know Seattle probably has TERRIBLE roads compared to alot of other places, but it makes me sad that 20k+ vehicles have such loose interiors.

    Loving the mileage though :)

Cold temps make rattles worse. With warmer temps some may go away if they are cause by plastic parts rubbing.

My 2010 had really bad rattles that drove me crazy. I currently drive a 2012 Veloster with 11k miles and not one single rattle. I am considering the C but if it rattles that is a deal breaker. How can Hyundai build a car that doesn't rattle and Toyota can't?

When I test drove a C two weeks ago I did so with the radio off (specifically to listen for things like rattles). I did not notice a single rattle, and our streets are tore up here in Vegas. My new C once it arrives better not rattle either or I may just refuse delivery on it.

Yea I so far heard it when cold like F8L said but it's not even a loud rattle but more like a very hard to hear one when cold at certain times. It also seems like its going away as I drive more?

My C doesn't rattle at all, yet at least, but both my 2006 and 2010 did.

The Prius is tight when new. Then the mice holding the stuff together die and it rattles like hell. :)

Toyota was pretty good on quality, so now they produce cars that rattle? That's a step or two back.

Our '05 developed a dashboard rattle... but I fixed it. Our Gen III is so far rattle free, and hope it stays that way. We test drove a c and were very impressed how quiet it was in the cabin. Crossing a couple of rough train tracks, the car was solid, and nothing rattled. Temperatures during our drive were in the 30s.

If the car doesn't rattle when temperatures are warm, then just turn the heat on full blast and warm things up! :D

    I don't like rattles.

The flying bridge contributes a lot to the rattles, when the body flexes the bridge twists the dash. Clips are used instead of screws, so that doesn't help things either! The C doesn't have the bridge so maybe that will prevent some of the problems!

Th passenger seatbelt was once sitting funny between the seat and the door that caused a rattling whenever I hit a bump... outside of that I haven't heard a thing.

Sadly, I have noticed a rattle when I go over bumps. The rattle is occurring on the dashboard on the drivers side where the two parts of dashboard meet. It is bugging the crap out of me as it is very noticeable. I am tempted to take it back to see if anything can be done as I have only had it for a week.

Do you have a c? Your info says otherwise.

I noticed a rattle in the front dash, too. When I lift up in the center of the instrument pod, it goes away. Seems like it's where the pod and main dash meet. That rattle comes and goes, though.

I have successfully eliminated dash squeaks in the past by spraying a heavy dose of interior protectant and letting it seep into the seams of dash parts. I have not yet tried that, but I will when I get around to detailing the interior.

Don't feed the mice....:(...trust me on this one.

Few years ago my 2001 Prizm started smelling really, REALLY BAD!
This after my A/C fan died with a horrible clunking sound. Finally took it in and they replaced the fan - and showed me the old "squirrel" cage fan with the remains (what was left) of a mouse.

Took months for the smell to go away...no one would ride in my car.

Yes, I just bought the C3.

Forgot to update my profile. Didn't notice the rattle when I just drove it then, but it seems to be worse when I am on the highway traveling over 50mph.

My rattle appeared when I was on a slow, bumpy back road doing about 25 mph. It hasn't resurfaced and the wife, who's the daily driver of this car, said she hasn't heard t at all. Hopefully it was a one time thing, but I have a feeling it'll be back.
