I plan on doing the same thing to my c4 (same color) so could expand on what you would do different new time around?
Did you do a a single pieces? I figure if you did you would need a piece 48" x 36".
Did you take the grilles out? if so disassembled how?

Did you put it on, then trim, or fit then peeled and stick?

again the picture look really sharp!

to take the grilles out, you must take off the front bumper which i did.. i have a knifeless tape which i laid down to make the cuts on the edges.. used a single piece for the upper and then another for the lower piece.

the material i used is very forgiving and did not require a wet application.. used a heat gun as well to help make the material malliable for the curves.. and installed it as with any other vehicle wrap.

the only issue i ran into was that i was in a rush to finish, and because of that.. was unable to work out all the creases that formed at the top and bottom edges..

once the vinyl was finished being laid down.. the tape gets pulled thru the material and cuts it... so it was trimmed on the vehicle.

the only thing different i would do when i do redo it.. is make sure i set enough time to lay down the vinyl more cleanly so i can get all the creases and folds out... as well as remove the lower rubber piece at the bottom of the bumper and wrap it under there so it's tucked better.

i intend to finish up the interior lighting first.

from there, redo the front end with a clear bra, then reapply the center blackout.. and also install tint on the windows before the hot summer comes around.

suspension upgrades are in the planning stages, but it's on hold until the development guys come over from Japan.. which will be hopefully next month.

from there, start on the audio and by then, hopefully a decent looking dash kit comes out... otherwise.. i'll have to resort to custom fabbing something up.

sadly the car just got a bunch of rock chips today :( .. and i want to touch them up before the paint protection material gets put on.. ugh.. some chips on the hood.. another big one on the front bumper.. and a big nick on the front windshield..

it's been a bad day for the car.

You sir have inspired me, I am looking at possible wrapping the whole car in black and blue carbon fiber vinyl. Just a quick question, do anybody know how to take the antenna off? Not just the little stick, I know twist, but the block screws into.

for the antenna, you need to move the headliner out of the way.. and from underneath, there's a large nut that holds it on.

btw.. here's a photo of kewlfox's front bumper with the same mod:

Are there any good guides or videos for learning how to apply this type of wrap, never done anything like this before, but it just looks so cool, I have to try it out. Also how much does the sheets tend to run?

the amount of material i used was worth around maybe $10-20 but you need to buy the film by the yard.. and some places you even have to buy an entire roll.

a yard of the material can range between $30-45 or so.. with it also a 60" width

usually... vinyl/sign supply shops are a lot more cheaper than sites that cater to vehicle modifications.. those places always mark up the price.

you're talking about like a $20 markup or so typically for a yard of material... so.. if you look around enough.. you can get a 60"x36" for less than $30.

It really looks killer. I was wondering if that should be blacked out. Then I saw your post. Nicely done.

I just so happen to have a Habenero c and some left over matte black vinyl.

    Cheers!

    SquallLHeart,

I also got Habenero c, (model 4) and had been thinking about dressing up the dash after doing the blacked out of the front bumper. On your dash you have a blue accent, black on mine, could one use some orange wrap to change the blue(or black) to orange?
Your thougths on how the best way to do this?

    thanks

yes.. the interior on the package 1 and 4 specifically have black accents instead.. as well as the dashboard being black instead of the lighter silver color that the 2&3 have (if you didn't notice that)

to make the black (or blue if you have a 2 or 3) accents a different color, vinyl wrapping would be possible.. painting is also another option, though i can understand wanting to go towards a less permanent solution.

to wrap the accents, i would pull them out of the vehicle and with a heat gun, stretch the vinyl around the curves working out all the creases that would be visible when you put them back in.
