I just want something inexpensive to make some of the custom changes to things like the reverse beep. Any suggestions? I couldn't find the info I was looking for during a search. Thx!

If you do a search for "reverse beep", you'll find dozens of discussions about this, as well as suggestions for various equipment, cables, and/or software. It just takes a little time and effort to read through the threads. There are lots of approaches. None is necessarily any better or worse than another.

For example, I posted about my choice recently. There may be better solutions.

Unless your iPad/iPod/iPhone is jailbroken you won't be able to do it with a cheap Bluetooth OBD-II device as there isn't a serial terminal app. Nor is there a OBD-II cable with the 40 pin dock connector. I did it with a Bluetooth OBD-II device from Amazon ($21) and a laptop but there are many ways depending on what else you want to do and how much you want to spend.
