The Phonebook/Address/Nav problem really is a glitch. Hopefully one that can be fixed in an update of some kind. System has to read the addresses in Outlook, AppleAddress, iPhone (all the same address on my system, all synched together).

I can't go and change all those WORKING addresses in all those applications which interface with all kinds of other apps from all kinds of contact and mailing lists.

When I need to nav to them, I'll put them in manually and save to stored.

    Meanwhile hoping Toyota fixes it.

But don't just wait: let them and your dealer know. They've really shipped an unacceptable product.

(And the problems discussed here are only part of what's wrong with the navigation system. The contrast, and flashing feature labels are downright unsafe.)

I just got a 2013 Prius III with navigation (all I really wanted was the back-up camera) and have been researching why I can't navigate using my contact list.
I have an iPhone 4S which I sync to Microsoft Outlook on my PC running Windows 7. When I connected to the car via Bluetooth all of my contacts loaded and the car phone works fine with my contacts. The only thing that didn't upload was my favorites, despite it being checked.
In navigation, all of my contacts were there, but none were navigable. All that shows up is the name and state. My research indicated this was due to poor matching. My contacts are formatted for mail: john smith, 5 Todd rd, Norwalk ct 06851-1234. Phone nav apps such as Telenav, Apple Maps, and Mapquest have no trouble reading my contacts.
I edited one contact on my phone and synced again with the car. It now worked. All I did was change the ZIP Code to 5 digits from 9.
I am unwilling to go through all my contacts to make this change, and I am unwilling to suffer slower mail delivery just to get my car's nav to work.
I can't believe this issue has existed for several years without a fix, especially as other companies do not have this error.
The other Entune services work ok as long as my phone is plugged in and the Entune app is open on my phone (an inconvenience). Email, pictures, and calendar don't work but that is not a big deal. I haven't tried reading text messages with Entune and am unsure whether they are the same as the short messages the Entune manual mentions.
My only other gripe is that on my 2010 Prius II with Bluetooth I could bring up Siri by pressing the car's Bluetooth button. On my new car the only way to get to Siri is to push the home button on the phone itself, which the car treats as a call to myself.
