After six months of research and test driving Mini Countryman S, new BMW 328i plus X3, and Volvo XC60, my wife and I decided to buy Prius V Five for our next family car and after one month of searching, we got one yesterday. Great car so far!

Our goal is getting a high MPG for CITY/hwy, so hybrid is our best choice. We love our 2004 BMW 325i for handling and performance, but it has only 19MPG/city, so it becomes my daily highway commute car. Below is what we got:

    Location: Bay Area, CA
Prius V Five - Blizzard Pearl/Misty Gray with 5 pieces floor mat
    Purchased price: $28,900

First mod: we will have 3M Color Stable windows tint for $250, all around.

Future mod: after market spring and rear sway bar. But the question is: Do you guys think the spring and rear sway bar will improve the handling? Steering feel? And, no harsh?

    Thank you

In Jan we replaced our much loved 2001 Voyager with a new 2011 Prius. The Voyager was getting a real world 14 mpg in town...the wife was spending $260 a month in gas! When gas was $3.15 a gallon the wife drove the Prius the same distance as the van and saved $200!!! Last month gas went up to $4.15 a gallon and even though her $60 per month went up to $85 she still saved $255 a month compared to what the gas for the van would have cost. The payment on the lease is only $280 a month.

Where do you get this price for the tint? I'm about to get one done too.

I got it from Mike at Quality auto glass & tint: 408-363-8468. I think $600 for 3M Crystalline.

We had 3M Color Stable (20%) for back windows + doors and 3M Crystalline (70%) for front doors + small windows: $350.

Thanks. I'll do some research on the tint material when I get time.

That's a huge difference for the better. I will have to shop around here in the Midwest for a good shop with quality materials.

My 4yrs old son and my wife love it. We have no problem at night time with 20% tinted.
