The price of over $123,000 must be a way to make them instant collectors items since only a nut job would buy one for that.....I think this is a misprint....you think

And the fact he says "in Singapore".
Hmm, when I check for the conversion rate it's like 80% the US dollar. So YES, that's an expensive car! As I recall from when I was there, they have a rather high duty rate on imported cars. Imagine what you'd pay for a Mercedes or BMW! And there's lots of those there!

Makes you appreciate how cheap cars are in North America, eh?

SG$111,988 = US$89,818 at current rates. The price will vary depending on COE.

A Prius Liftback is $178,000 plus COE or US$142,700.

At least SG$200,000 for an entry level model I would think, topping out at $400,000 to $500,000 for the S-Class/7/A8/LS/XJ.

Went in intending to buy a C and ended up buying the Prius III/3.

The mileage difference was not that great nor the price.

    Loaded C was $25K and III/3 with solar roof/nav was $26K.

The C had the feel of a budget car (string holding up the cardboard cargo cover) while the Prius had a much more upscale feel.
