I just saw this pop up on my registered VIN on the Toyota owners web site:

And that's all it says, no links to anything else.

Update: So I called a couple nearby service departments. They had only just heard of the service campaign. I'll probably need to wait until I get the actual notice in the mail from Toyota about my particular vehicle. Once I get the notice, it's a trip to the service department for an inspection to see if the part is actually failing, a trip back the next day or two after they have ordered the part and it has arrived. Both visits will probably take a couple hours as they do the inspection and replace the part, as it's moderately difficult to get to.

Symptoms you might see are the check engine light coming on, and the temperature warning flashing. Also, if you see pink coolant fluid leaking under the car, that's a good indication that you need the service done.

I got recall notice via web as well. I'm due for 5K service soon, so will try to get more info on the recall and post any details

I just went to the Toyota Owners web site and I got the same recall notice as gnguyen. It is pretty ambiguous - it just says there is a Service Campaign for the Prius v but it doesn't mention whether mine is on deck to be repaired.

We're about to do a long trip and I'd like to find out sooner rather than later.

I ended up calling Toyota's corporate office in Torrance. They were helpful. They looked up my VIN and told me mine's not included in the recall.

Thanks to your posts, I also found the Recall Alert next to my VIN on the Toyota Owners Website. I think it is pretty clear that my vehicle is selected to have the work done. The Recall Alert link was next to my VIN, and when you click on it you get "Below are the open Safety Recalls or Service Campaigns that have not yet been completed for your vehicle." and a brief description. See pics below.

Yup, it just went out officially. My car is also under the Limited Service Campaign. Since my car was gotten on the 28th of Jan, I would say, any of the Prius vs bought prior to the 28th of 2012 might be on the list.

    Yep.

Hopefully a moderator can edit the title to indicate it's for the v wagon.

I'm having a major anxiety attack right now...I have to take my v to a dealership for a repair, something I pretty much NEVER DO. I might hide in the back of the car so I can keep an eye on them...

I'm with you. I think I'll wait until they've done the repair numerous times and know what they're doing before I take mine in. I'm not due for the next servce for 5k miles so that should give them some time to practice on other owners' vees.

You've all read, and some of you have actually experienced some of the half nice person work these guys do, they have difficulty just getting an oil level correct, anything more than air in the tires scares the heck out of me.

When I worked on motorcycles for a living I treated every customers bike as if it were my own, besides... a mistake on a motorcycle and you could kill someone. The Dealerships are all about get it out the door ASAP to make the most money possible...bottom line, they just don't care. Unfortunately for most people...a necessary evil.

I have contacted the place where I got the car. Looks like they don't have parts for the recall yet. Parts are on order and will contact me to schedule service appointment

Same... I would suggest people wait a couple of weeks before scheduling an appointment. The official spread just came out the last few days so none of the dealers are ready for it yet.

I have an appointment with my dealer today to conduct the initial inspection of the Exhaust Gas Actuator. I'll post the results after my visit.

The technician at the dealership inspected the Exhaust Gas Actuator on my V and conveyed to me that it definitely needs to be replaced. He "special ordered" the part and it should be in today. I'll post results once the part is replaced.

I'm curious as to how a tech could determine your actuator was bad, X-ray vision maybe.

I assume that Toyota has provided their dealerships with some sort of diagnostic test to complete on the part. They had my V in their vehicle bay for ~30 minutes ... not sure exactly what they did. I'm satisfied since they are going to replace the part.

I called our Toyota of Fort Worth dealership yesterday 30Apr12 and asked them about the Limited Service Campaign = "C0F" Exhaust Gas Actuator.

He first said that he had not heard of this but he checked online and sure enough there was one now on the their list. Said he would check his Parts Dept to see if parts were available and would call back.

He called back and said that their Parts Department would order the parts and would call me back to set up an appointment for the repair service.

He also mentioned that there were about 800 Prius v's in Texas.

Now waiting for parts and a appointment call back.

The parts to complete the recall repairs on my V arrived at my local dealership yesterday. I'm going to get the recall work done this morning and will report back on the results.

Mine was bought early November 2011 in No. Cal. Took it to the dealership on Sunday for the oil change and they told me that there was a recall on it. Luckily they had the part (the only one they had) and replaced it; took about 4 hours for the oil change and replacement. They also mentioned that mine was the first one they did the replacement for.
