Does anyone know if there is a way to play videos from an iPod connected via cable or from an iPhone connected via Bluetooth?

The owners manual mentions that it will play the audio from a video that is on an iPod. I searched the forums but couldn't find anything else on this topic.

Bluetooth audio streaming works just done but it's out of sync from the video. I use audio Jack for playing the audio through the head unit.

Just what the rest of the folks on the road need. More driving distraction. More highway deaths. Watching videos on the navigation screen while driving? Great idea. This even goes for a front seat passenger watching a video. Still too distracting for a driver.

So whats the skinny on watching movies on the system? I popped in a DVD that I put a movie on and it only played the audio. I haven't yet tried a store bought movie.

So to enable the video is it just the parking brake switch or that and the vehicle speed sensor signal? I can see some mods coming up. BTW I got a pair of those timers today for the PWR mode mod.

Less than 5 MPH + engaging parking brake = DVD video display. And there is already a mod for it. Let me know how the PWR mode mod turn out.

I have to schedule time to do the PWR mode mod. I am clueless how to take the interior apart on this car so I have to do some studying so I don't break any clips or fasteners. On the Nav/DVD thing, I have to see if my wife will allow me the funds to purchase your kit. It would be way easier with your kit so I didn't have to mess around sourcing the parts and fabricating that switch/bezel assembly.

There's a video that shows you how to take apart the dash to gain access to the radio. The drive mode selector bezel is the first piece to come out.

I'm with you Blane. And they continue the thread speaking of mods and such. We'll see how the thread goes when they kill someone while watching a video and driving.

I watched the video last night of the Rosen install. I think that is the one you mentioned for seeing what is involved in the removal of the factory Nav head. It looks very easy thank you :) I presume the V1V kit has a long enough harness to get over to the switch blanks left of the steering wheel? I wish there was another blank down by the accessory jack or up high near the Nav head.

The switch harness is almost 5' long. There's a blank panel right side of steering wheel below the power button.
To the people who think it's a bad idea to enable video while driving, STOP THREAD CRAPPING. Go start your own thread in FPH. While you're at it, discuss how Toyota's trying to distract you and make you crash by using digital speedometer, hybrid system indicator, energy monitor, and navigation screen.

Perfect :) I will use that switch location.

    Thank you,
