Yup. There are the shadows. Morimoto stuff is good but those shadows will definitely bother me. I know I'll focus on them instead of the road ahead. Any word from Andrew at TRS?

I would also love to know what they say about the ground shadow, I have this kit but haven't installed it yet.

It's like a reverse of the FX-R "laser beams". LOL

I baked and disassembled one of the spare headlights I bought (with only a small break off of the high beam reflector) and took out the projector. I just put it in the mail to TRS as Andrew said they'd see about fabricating a "quick retro" option for it. Since the RX350 projector is pretty expensive, I am hoping they'll be able to create a kit. The only concern, is that they didn't feel there was much demand in the Prius world for them. So, anyone that might like it, make sure you email TRS and let them know! If nothing else, maybe we can get a limited one-time group buy on them if they can do it.

I'll keep everyone posted on what they say.

Just an update: Andrew said the fabrication is complete. I am going to send my housing to them, and they will finalize the fitment. Offered me to send in the other headlight and they would retro it for me as part of the first ever Prius quick retro! I'll try to get them in the mail to TRS during the week. I'm sure the UPS store will have fun making a box and packing it for me.

Hopefully they will have this finalized soon, and priced well. Now, I'll just have to figure out how to remove the headlight housing from the car. Anyone have pointers on that one?

I've attached some pictures of my 2010 cut offs with 55w HIDs in the standard projectors for those who might be curious to compare Aussie right hand drive with the US car. Pictures taken with Iphone.

PS the first photo has the halogen fogs on as well.

Ugh, what a PITA. Guess it'll be time for some googling and youtube searching to figure it out.

If it is anything like the GenII it will be easy. The hardest part is making sure you don't scratch the body panels. ;)

Just use the "contact us" option on their website: The Retrofit Source online: headlight upgrades for all applications

I'll try to get some more information from him during the week regarding availability once they do the final test fit with mine. Considering they had it ready within about 48 hours, I'd imagine if the fitment is correct it'd be listed on their website pretty quickly.

At this stage, you could probably hold off a little while and see if it gets listed on their product page.

Yes, be sure to remove the bumper completely off. It's not hard. It will save you scratches.
Once you expose the head lights and standing in front of the car you notice they don't pull forward of the car for removal. They need to be tugged away from the car to the sides outward. Wiggle each one until they start to dislodge. Mine were a little tough at first. So take your time.

I did it to my 2011 for the horn upgrade and to get a better look at the fog light area behind the bumper before I mod some fogs.

Any tips/hints you'd like to share to make it easier for me? It'll be a couple weekends before I am able to get to it, as I'm sure I won't have my lights back before this weekend.

I would certainly be down to purchase one or two kits. Thanks for sending your light in, w1ck1ert.

This will be pretty awesome if they use anything other than the Mini D2S projector. :)

Thanks for doing this, bro! If I was stil able to bake headlights I would consider it. Besides, I ain't modifying squat until we get this Harley thing sorted out. LOL

No problem, guys. I've asked Andrew if he can elaborate on which products were used. The Prius projector is essentially 3 parts: lens, bracket, and housing (I should have taken more pictures lol). I also asked for some pictures, provided they don't have a problem with me sharing yet.

Here's the link to their Retro-Quik page: Morimoto Retro-Quik System - Complete Retrofit Kits from The Retrofit Source Inc

Once I get more info back from Andrew, I'll forward it on. I figure a few will want to see the light output pattern before purchasing, so I'm going to see if I can find a helping hand after I get everything back to help me get this project done. I bet if I lived in CA, I'd be able to find one or two helpers :p

They're still working on the fitment details. According to Andrew, they're using the Mini H1 projectors for it. They plan to take lots of pictures and possibly video of the installation. Hopefully will know next week how it went.
