The dreaded red triangle appeared about two month ago. The dealer ran the code and said that a cell was bad. They would replace the pack for 3k+. I got a quote from Reinvolt-$1675 plus $400 shipping. The dealer reset the system and the car ran fine for the last few months. The triangle is back. I found a complete re-manufactured Prius battery pack from Hybrid Battery Depot for $1399, shipping included. Does anyone have good or bad experience with them? Thanks in advance.:thumb:

Boo, do you have the codes? How many miles on the car? Although your selection for the car is impossible, a 2006 in California is warranted for 10 years, 150,000 miles for the hybrid parts.

How old is your 12v battery? What are the voltage readings for the 12v?

Before spending $2000 on a traction battery I'd make sure the problem isn't related to the $200 12v battery.

Toyota's replacement will have a 1 year unlimited mile warranty unless the original warranty is longer.

    My experience is as follows:
I own and operate a hybrid repair shop in Ashland, Virginia. I stock Hybrid Batteries for Prius. I stock the Reinvolt Battery and if we install the Reinvolt give a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty on the Reinvolt. I will install a Hybrid Battery Depot Battery but will only give a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. Hope this helps Mac

A couple of months after my Toyota dealer (CT) installed a ReInVolt in my 2004 Prius, I had a problem while traveling through Illinois which prevented my Prius from going to READY. I called friend Steve at Plug In Hybrid Electric Vehicle PHEV and he advised me to disconnect the 12v battery to reset some codes. My Prius then started up and I drove the 3 hours to Steve's shop in southern Indiana, parked the car in his lot and was waiting on his doorstep when He came in to work.

He found that a connector had not been fully "clicked home" by the dealer's technician. $40 out the door with a free tee shirt. Your problem may not be as severe as a failed HV battery.

Mac, as you are in ashland and I am in midlothian I will try to remember you in the future. Since my car is only 5 days old hopefully I will not need your services for a long long time! Steve

The car has 168,000 miles and has run flawlessly. The dealer ran the code a few months ago said that it showed a bad cell in the traction battery. You make an excellent point though. I will check the 12v battery(It's the original) and have the code read by someone other than the dealer. Thanks.

Just informed by Hybrid Battery Depot they have increased their warranty to 18 months obviously another quality product or they would not have increased their warranty. Mac's Service Center will warranty parts and labor on products we install a total of 3 years 36,000 miles . Thanks Kirk for the update. "Mac"
