Haven't seen any real info on it - so here's my experience.

Two screws just like front doors (one behind handle, one in armrest).

First, when you pull the door (true on fronts also), be very careful to unplug the power window cable. I pulled a bit hard, and the cable pulled the power window switch apart. It was a real hassle putting it back together!

As with fronts, I cut out the speaker connector from the existing 2 ounce speakers - to reuse on the upgraded speakers. I drilled around the plastic connector, then used some dikes to cut it out.

Then cut out the speaker surround, and the new speaker fits nicely into the old plastic.

I do recommend getting a few extra door snaps - as they seem to break easily...

I'm running a Pioneer Z110BT thing for nav etc.

The speakers in the rear are what I had replaced in the front (component Infinity Reference). I moved them to the back to make room for new front ones.

Found a great deal on MB Quarts - so I'm moving them to the front for a while, and the Infinitys to the back for a bit...

Figured this way I can find the best fronts (really good Infinity vs really good MB Quart). Since I think my install is sort of plug and play, they can be moved fairly easily (fairly is very relative).

Installing new fronts (if you're thinking about it) is not too trivial (again relative) - read those posts....

I have yet to move the tweeters to the back "C pillar" (and put the MB tweeters up font).

I know this is an old thread but it's got some great pics.
Do you remember what size screws you used to reattach the spacers to the doors?
Did you have to modify the door panel that goes over the speakers in order to get it to all fit back together?

    Thanks. That is handy.
I wish my speakers came with clips like that.

So the lip on the door did get in the way I guess; I think i'll have to Dremel off some of the spacer since I don't really want to alter the door panels.

Yes, I think in the future, I will trim off about 1/4" from the adapter so the door panel can attached completely.

I just did this install yesterday for a client of mine.
Reinstalled the adapter with rivets. Lots of work for a relatively simple replacement on other cars.
Why the heck do they make it like this? :(

^ nice job... I see the cross-over and everything.
I thought the design was quite clever on their part... just makes if difficult for us.

Thanks but the front crossover is going to take some figuring out to mount because of the squawkers. Nothing is this car is pnp for upgrades with the audio except maybe the HU.

Yup, this has turned into a major cluster for me.
I am still stuck on the front, not started the back.
My 6x9 speakers do not fit into the old housings without removing both the inner lip and the outer lip.
My poor Dremel has a heck of a job ahead.
