Dealer called me today and said I could have the Super White Package 8 with tan leather in a week. I had initially requested the Red but would have to wait probably 4-6 weeks at least. Every one has been talking up the new Red, but I haven't seen any of the new colors.

For those who have the new 06 Prius, is the white a great look for the car, or is the Red the bomb. I just want a classy look to the car. I'm a young 50.

I just didn't want the black, but all the colors look nice. White or wait?

I like the Prius white a lot, and the car looks classy, especially from the rear, because of the contrasting dark stuff, with white. I don't like most off-whites, e.g., "creamy".

OTOH, I saw my first red the other day. The "chromed" center grille bar looks great with the red contrast (blue, too). On the white, you hardly notice it.

    Color's entirely subjective.

I see you ordered the 06, which color by chance?

I have to let him know first thing in the AM or the car will go to another lucky person.

Go for the white. I have a 2006 White and it looks great. I have had at least 4 white cars, and they have always looked great. Also when you detail a white car, you can easily spot any spot marks in the paint, which usually can be cleaned by a clay bar or wax.

We can't decide for you on this one! You are the one buying the car (not us) and you need to be happy with the result (not us). It doesn't matter what color we like or dis-like and we can't tell if you can deal with a longer wait or not.

So, if you like the white and can't wait - go for it now. If you really love the red (like I do) and you can deal with the uncertainty and the wait - then go for the red.

One last thing, a year from now you'll be living with your decision on the color and whether you waited or not won't matter.

Super white looks really great! Just like you, I was hoping for a red (but was really open to any color except silver as my previous car was silver) -- but all these folks getting their Prii made me antsy about getting my own ASAP. My dealer called Monday last week and asked if I were interested in taking possession of a Super White Prius. I did not hesitate, so Tuesday night, the 20th-- my baby was born!

I had the rear windows tinted dark and it looks great. Take it, take it, take it.. you won't regret it.

    Cheers,
    Tommy

Look it the pitcure section and you will see a white Prius with some nice rims on it. Makes me want to get the Prius in white and add those same rims on it. I think those rims the owner put on the Prius really made it look extra sporty!

I was in the same situation, deciding on colors. I already knew I was getting the top package (#6 '05 or #7 '06). I was somewhat predisposed toward the red before I saw it. When I had the opportunity to drive out that day with a white one, I jumped at the chance. I have not regretting the color choice one bit. One actual benefit for me is the ease of getting the optional body panels from JDM painted in the factory colors. It will make the installation very easy.

Those pictures of the white with the upgraded rims and tire size are fabulous. I think I'll see if he still can get the white (may have gotten snatched up).

What are the JDM body panels?
