I am not cranky, but I have not figured the new software yet. I will just keep using my mobile and pretend PC did not change.

^ I just figured out how to view the recent posts (across all forums). That is what got me trouble originally. :) If I would have not found that function before I would have not known about FHOP.

No where in my post did I "plead for other to supply the supporting facts and evidence": I suggested someone make another post because there are members who have Trebuchet on ignore...

For the love of God please put me on ignore.

Danny, the next feature I'd like is a "No Show" that would hide my posts from posters that stalk people from thread to thread. Pretty Pwease? Seems only fair that the ignore feature should work both ways.

This is an open forum where people are free to post and reply to any poster. If you don't like that, then don't flame people so much....and not have such empty rhetoric.

On the technical side of quotes, I had to reedit them to make them readable.

Wild guess, the HTML generation is leaner.

Actually, that's not the case. If a mod decides he doesn't like your post, he will edit it to his liking, with no indication of what was edited.

That is neither open nor free. Kinda sad given the fact that the Internet was designed to promote open and equal access to information.

Sure seems free to me: I don't pay anything other then seeing the online ads that the site needs to keep running. As long as you stay within forum rules of no expletives or really insensitive posts, then your posts are not going to be deleted (I have yet to have any of my posts deleted, nor have I been admonished by mods). A member should have the right to post anywhere or block posters for whatever reason. But this is an open forum in which members have the right to read and reply to any post (the majority of which are not deleted). To propose that certain posters or mods have the right to screen what other posters see, like Trebuchet has just done, would certainly be an example of a closed forum.

I like to get alerts for post replies in here rather than by e-mail. It's much more convenient with this new software. Thumbs up for that.

And the quote text can't work perfectly, unfortunately - people can still mess up the quote tags, right?

It's not a proposition, it's a fact. I've had a post of mine edited and I wasn't being profane or even inflammatory. Just echoing what another poster said.

Open and free implies transparent IMO, and there's no transparency here. If you think otherwise, well, ignorance is bliss... I won't try to take that away from anyone.

    Quoting other members works OK.

I was quoting Gandhi in another thread, who is not a member here. ;) My attempt to do a boilerplate quote, duplicate, then fill in the actual quote three times just did not go well.....live and learn.

Effusive praise restored, now there is no indication that an ignored member has posted!

Lots of luck trying to get your main proposal instated (members able to block and censor who reads their posts).

And I'd assume you're striving success if I can't see any posts from Trebuchet. Even though you've stated you've been admonished by mods, then somehow they'd cow tail to your wish of blocking certain members from reading your posts....eh lots of wishful thinking there! If you're that rhetorical (which time and time again you prove you are), you won't ever have to worry about me responding to any of your posts.

It sounds like those religious debates (or anti-religious might be more correct) has dug some trenches between some members!I don't think anyone would ever get to my ignore-list, but I will applaud any efforts to do so :D

    > Chuck
It sounds like there have been some significant tweaks to the quoting system. Remembering the old software, it was the quoting which messed up the tags most often, so I'm looking forward to experiment with the current system.

The new software is taking some getting used to, I like it. Sometimes I just use Tapatalk, it hasn't changed.

Can we have a button to ignore people that use oversized emoticons?

    Love TapaTalk.

Curious what is hard to figure out about the new forum software. I don't really see a big difference from the old vBulletin to the new XenForo forum software. I think the new forum looks better, more 21st century and I like the Alerts and What's New.

Were you using some special features?
