I'm also seeing increased mpg with this mod. 51.1 mpg's last tank and currently sitting at 49.5 on this tank with over 200 miles. Great mod cc. Easy to install, results right away and a great price (lol).

Just finished installing last night and had my first commute with it this morning. Absolutely brilliant! Thanks ccdisce!

It's perfect for me -- I have a short (5 mile) commute with 40-45MPH speed limits most of the way. I used to have to be poking the EV button all the time to get the engine to turn off during my commute (I have an Enginer PHEV kit) and then keep my speed below 34MPH. Depending on how well I managed the ICE vs. EV mode, I could get 80-110 MPG (and irritate a lot of anxious commuters). Generally, by the end of my commute the engine still wasn't warm enough (even in summer) to reach S4.

This morning I basically didn't use EV mode at all, reached S4 by the first stoplight, cruised in at 45MPH, and arrived with 108 MPG on the scangauge. I'm saving gas AND getting there faster!

When I got in this morninig, I flipped off the spoofer just for kicks and the ICE was at 120F. Heh, heh...

It is awesome isn't it. I'm usually in S4 by the first stoplight as well. My commute is 6 miles and I would never achieve S4 (in the winter) without the spoofer. Now I achieve it everyday. I haven't flipped mine off since I installed it.

cc, you really should consider selling these to all the PHEVr's here. I believe they will see great benefits similiar to pjc.

Glad to see that you are having fun.

In my case where I do not have a PHEV mod, on warm days the ECU idles the engine for a few seconds when stopping and stopped even tho the ICE is warmed up. I was thinking it was just burning off gas vapour or probably the alcohol vapour from the E10 sitting in the tank/bladder. There is no idle re-cal going on as the RPM does not go above and below 960RPM.

i think that this happens when you breaking?
maybe its not the mod but your PHEV that is high in voltageand OEM battery fully charged where the prius will instead of regenerating will use ICE breaking.

It looks like he even had an injured right wrist. Amazing skill and strength to unplug the ECU connector in the tight space - I had to remove the vent cover to get better access when I did mine (that didn't add much time either).

In fact, it was his second install. The first one took longer, he told me. Still simple to do and works well!
