Yep, and that's why I bought the cover that should also help prolong the life of the dashboard. I picked the one below: DashMat Limited Edition Dashboard Cover, Limited Edition Dash Mat | Car-Truck-Accessories.com
I cultivate that patina of dust. After a year or so, it greatly reduces the glare in the windshield from the top of the dash. Previiously, I ha bought one of those fitted carpet things at Costco, but, well-tailored as it was, the nap was even worse than the bare clean dashboard for creating windshield glare. Grunge is the real answer!
Those things are handy. I wonder why the dash is a dust magnet? Could it be the cabin filter is missing?
I think the dust is everywhere but it is most visible at the dashboard where you look at all the time.
My theory is that the v's smooth hard dash just makes dust visible. It's probably present in most cars, but a textured dash would hide it better? Andy
I don't have a problem with dust on my dash because I clean the inside/outside of the car once a week. Maybe you should do the same. Spend 30 minutes a week giving your Prius a cleaning.
