My Current Samsung Link and LG Rumour phones are not supported by the bluetooth system on my 2012 Prius. Actually the AUDIO portion of the Samsung Link is... but ironically the phone portion is not.

So I am looking at upgrading both of these phone, but I don't want to dive in unless I can be sure they are compatible with the Toyota Bluetooth (non Nav) system. I am looking at either the Samsung Galaxy W and HTC Wildfire S. Can anyone tell me if either of these phones will connect to Toyota's bluetooth system (without Nav)? I realize there is Toyota.connect.com, but these list all the US carriers and Toyota has not come out with a Canadian site yet for this.

On the US site, the HTC Wildfire S, but the model numbers were different, but I cannot locate the Samsung Galaxy W. Does anyone own any of these phones? Will they connect?

I'm pretty certain any decent phone nowadays should connect. Get a mid to higher end phone to make sure though.

Our Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Samsung Fascinate (Galaxy S) both connect to our BT, but we have the Nav system. All contacts were transferred to the system via Bluetooth.

its funny how our old phones wont connect, but again my Samsung Link will partially connect (bluetooth audio only). I rented a 2012 Hyundai Elantra, and the Bluetooth system (which is voice controlled) picked up my phone perfectly.

Has to be some little setting you might be missing somewhere. I know that's not super helpful but logic tells me it most likely connects.

I have a 2011 Prius 3. My iphone links with CAR M_MEDIA. My guess is that you need the same link for your 2012. Your phones sound recent enough that markabele may be right that something is missing somewhere. I could not get my phone to link and took it back to the salesman and he got it to work.

The funny thing is the sales man could not do it either. he did all the same steps that I did... and I even went through the manual after to try and figure it out. It reall was not all that helpful considering how thick the manual is for this radio

I don't know if this will help you, but I have a Nokia 300 dumb-phone, and a 2012 Prius Four with Solar Roof Package (premium HDD nav). My Nokia phone will connect via Bluetooth to make calls, but the car will not download any contacts from the phone, and does not allow me to add new contacts on the LCD screen in the car. So the ONLY ways I can make phone calls are to dial on the phone, or use the "Call History" on the LCD scree in the car. If I use either of those methods to dial, the speakerphone works fine. And I can answer incoming calls fine. I searched the web, and I asked the techie sales guy the last time I brought my car to a dealership for service, still no luck. I know my phone isn't a smartphone, but this model only came out about 1 1/2 years ago so it should be compatible with all of the latest Bluetooth and address book standards. Pretty annoying.

    Good luck!

Good call. Just look at it as an excuse to get a new toy. ;)

I have a 2012 Prius 3 and it has worked flawlessly with 2 iPhone 4. I think the safe thing to do is to go to Toyota and ask if they support Android phones and specifically if they have any ones that they do not support.

    Get the following information:
    phone manufactures and models
the version of Android. Maybe your current phone's operating system is too old?

    Good luck!
