GIANT side-view mirrors necessary?? LOL

    A friend took this picture last week here in San Diego. Granted the driver was very old, but "wow"! With the Prius I have to rely on the side-mirrors more than ever, but as long as I use them along with the rear-view and "over-the-shoulder" check, I have full view and am confident in my safety. I can't imagine how these affect his mpg! pruis giant side-view mirrors.jpg

    The A pillars aren't blocking the mirrors? You sure they're actually mirrors and not speakers?

    Friend says, "
    110% sure they were mirrors. I saw them with my own two eyes." ​
    Then he asked why someone would have speakers mounted that way. My reply: "
    I don't know, but it's not much weirder than having huge mirrors mounted! lol Mb he was going to park his "cool" prius at the beach and blast some tunes while he roller bladed! Hahahaha" ​
    Imagining 80 y/o dude. :)

    Those look like they came from a bus. And they look like they are directly blocked by his A Pillars...weird dude.

    not to mention it looks like he probably had to drill holes on the quarter panel to hold those things in there...I wonder how long until that rusts, and/or he has to trade it and see what next guy will buy this thing?
